Hey all, wondering if this is something common or there's an issue with my mustang III v2.

When I switch presets, the amp is very noisy- sort of like you'd hear with a dirty pot. But all I need to do is slightly touch the volume pot (not the master volume) and the noise goes away. Like turn it from 4 to 5 and then back to 4 again. Very reminiscent of real pots gone dirty, but as soon as I change presets the noise is back and I must do the tweak again, so I'm thinking this is not a simple dirty pot (and I've seen the post about the difficulty in cleaning them anyway!).

So is this expected behavior or should I be thinking about a repair? Thanks!

The pot is probably not bad.
The amp has a preset volume on each preset.
When you move the pot, it overrides the preset volume and responds to your manual input by quickly changing the volume.
You can probably edit the preset and lower it's volume.
All of the pots act this way except the Master. Its the only one with audio on it. The rest are 3.3 volt dc dividers.

Thanks Times! Yeah, that was probably a pretty uninformed question :)

After "posting" the question I dug into the Mustang and finally learned how it worked. But my post was still "awaiting moderation" so I couldn't delete/self-reply right away. And I didn't catch when it had been posted :(.

But I do appreciate the reply!
