really my main gripe is the lack of software support. They dropped Fuse like a hot potato and didn't replace it. I don't want to rely on the kindness of the "Remuda" guy to keep his project going.

Yes good point - that was really terrible behaviour.
And the fact they couldn't give two hoots. "We're listening, we really are" and then they did nothing.

There needs to be a software guarantee over a 10 year lifetime in law. I expect the development was outsourced - but I used to do this stuff, it's not that difficult at Fuse level. Now it's gone to an app it's way more complex.

Well, this discussion has been very informative. Thank you to all.

I have a Mustang III which has a bad master volume pot. It was bad from the get-go - had an authorized repairman look at it. He ended up cleaning the pot and then he told me that dirty pots are not covered under warranty. I had a strange feeling that something was not right about all this. So, that fix lasted for a while (sort of) and now it's worse than ever. Out of warranty. I sent an email to Fender support asking how I could purchase a new pot but now I doubt I'll even get a response. Does Fender read any of these posts? If so, they will know that they've lost at least one customer.

I had the same problem so I naively contacted Fender's customer care for help. First they suggested to send the amp to the nearest retailer which is in another country. Then when I pressed on, the guy plainly explained to me Fender's outrageous replace it or trash it policy.

"Unfortunately these aren't field serviceable amps. When one of these amps fail due to manufacturer defect under warranty the amp is usually replaced, not repaired since it's not cost effective to repair these amps. As result, I don't have a parts list or the specs for the components. This is why you'd need to reach out to the nearest distributor for further assistance to see what other options may be available. If you are within 2 years of your purchase date, and the amp was new when purchased the amp is under warranty."

I don't know how Fender can get away with this unsustainable policy.
