My Mustang II amp was blown. It would start for a few minutes then shut down. Took a look at the printed boards, traced the line to the transformer and rectifier board. One of the secondary transformer's pins became unsoldered. The small solder to board footprint caused excessive thermal cycles that eventually caused the solder to liquefy and subsequently oxidize in the peripheral contact areas. Carefully cleaning the affected area, then scrapping a larger footprint for the solder on the printed board and finally re-soldering the pin will permanently fix this problem. Hope this helps. I tested the amp for eight hours and she's a beauty.

@strat1961: Could you post or send me a picture of what exactly to clean, what to scrap and which pin to re-solder?

Thanks a lot!

I'm new in here, 1st time actually. I do have the same problem with mustang 2 shuts down after few minutes of practicing and I have to wait couple of minutes. Turn off then on, so it will work just fine for few more minutes.
Could you post or send me a picture of what exactly to clean, what to scrap and which pin to re-solder?
THANK YOU
