Hello guys,

new to playing guitar and to amps. I have a Mustang 1 v2 and am trying to create a sound similar to this one here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqv2lGyusPM

I'm not even sure where to start to be honest. I know this guy has a Telecaster, like myself. Uses a not too big Koch amp and what looks like a tube screamer for some songs.

Using this as an example because I'm really trying to find settings similar to this: not endlessly huge sustain, but some distortion. Quite honestly, being a beginner I don't even know how to describe such a sound. And with all the possibilities that the Mustang offers with the software, and no idea what those different amp models are for I'm a bit at a loss. Lots of music I like has a somewhat similar sound, thus I hope someone knows how to set my lil'amp.

Thanks for your help.

Would you mind being a bit more precise? Like I say I'm a complete beginner. I now manage to play a few songs but only just got this amp, thus have played unamplified until now.

And when I play with the amp I of course notice there are large differences between the different models. So I deleted all presents and set clean sounds for various models, and the differences are still huge. And I struggle to find models and settings that sound remotely like what I'm after.

Hi, you might try the search function in FUSE on "web" to find a similar setting. The sounds will not be exact as they depend on the instrument used to create them and the instrument you use (all Telecasters are not the same, depending on manufacturing source, setup and mainly the pickups used). So I find it necessary to edit to achieve the sound I desire. I'm using a Mustang 3v2 with Fuse.
Hope this helps, Ross

Hi Ross,
it kind of helps, though none of the bands I like fall into the popular music category, and I have no knowledge of popular music and as such, searching is a bit difficult. I just don't know what to search for to start with.

I will try to give you some help from my point of view.

I think that the basic of your tone is the classic clean compressed fender tone, you can download it here:

https://fuse.fender.com/mustang/presets ... ssic-tone/

and there you got a complete description in this post:

https://ridingthemustang.blogspot.com/2 ... eluxe.html

Short story: get a 57 model and rise the gain just before it starts distort for maximum compression and twang.

In your case i will add some mid for a more "tele" twang and maybe some bass. But keep it clean.

Since you have a TS emulation on your amp (the green overdrive) just use it. Set Level/volume to get the same volume with the pedal and without, tones at noon (50%) and drive between 30 and 40%.

I think you will be close enough.

Obviously you need fender fuse and a PC to accomplish that.

Let us know if you like the result.

Thanks a lot Mordor! I'll have to try that once I'm back home (meh, I just left for my annual leave). Your description will certainly give me a few things to try out, and to get to know my wee amp a bit better.

So far I've only deleted all presets and mainly set a few clean tones on the first group, then experimented a bit with the different effects to see what they do. But didn't safe anything there.
