I'll explain what I'm trying to do, and I'm not very technical in terms of windows.

For years, I had a little Vox modeling amp, and a behringer mixer. I ran the PC output into the mixer, the amp's line out into the mixer, and a pair of Sony headphones into the mixer, along with a set of Logitech speakers (worked for what i was doing, as well as works for the budget). I could control all of the sound leveling from there, as well as output source. It has seperate level controls for Mains and Phones. I could kill the speakers without getting out of a lounging position if the GF didn't want to hear it, it was great. No fighting curious young cats to switch cables around.

Most of what I do is to play along with MP3s stored on the PC, or sometimes with Youtube if I know I have the CD in storage somewhere, but don't wanna make my arthritic limbs dig for it.

Then the Vox died. Hardcore, it was a goner. So I bought a Mustang I to replace it. The Mustang has two outs. USB, and Phones. I should also mention the mixer is already a USB interface, and this is on Win10 with the built in mobo sound card, no audio interface.

Is there a way to get the amp to route the output to the mixer for the headphones, or is the Phones jack on it balanced for line out usage as well? I know just enough to know I don't know enough, and am not quite sure of what I don't know, if you follow. Eventually I'd love to route it into Audacity or Ableton, but for now, I just wanna practice along wth my MP3s, through the phones, with a central control unit. It helps prevent divorce ;)

I do have FUSE, Ableton Live Lite 9, and the latest greatest Fender ASIO driver installed. I'm missing something somewhere.

Any help appreciated, thank you.

Run a 3.5mm stereo cable from the computer line out to the amps 'AUX' in. Then plug your headphones into the Mustang amp. Done. No mixer needed.

Or

Store your MP3s on a smart phone and plug the phone into the AUX instead.

As far as the mixer, I don't really see the point if you're not recording. But if you insist, sure you can run a cable from the phones out to the mixer. If you have 1/4" stereo inputs on the mixer, you would need a 3.5mm stereo to 1/4" stereo cable (or use adapters to achieve the same).

The mixer fits on my desk as well as having a Rumble 60 bass amp run to it. Just makes it easier to control the noize in the phones. The mustang slides in under the desk for space purposes, and it's easier to get to the volume controls on the little mixer. It's just a quality of life thing, really. No technical reason for it.
