I have been trying to get a full WAHAAA sound out of amp using the wah in Mod and the Exp pedal. I get a decent, but very basic, and not very deep, or wide one. I have the settings at 1 for Heel and 10 for Toe and everything. I tried 20%/80%, etc, but that gives me less effect. Anybody have any input on how to get a true thick swooshing wah from beginning to end from this thing?
Thanks,
R

I believe the Mustang Wah is based on a Vox wah.

I think what you are looking for is most likely a Crybaby wah sound.

As far as I know, the Mustang wah can not get that sound. IMO, the Vox type wah is better for lead guitar, and the Crybaby is better for that funky rhythm sound. If you must have that sound, you might want to just pick up a Crybaby. There are other brand wah pedals, but I think that's the one you're looking for.

thanks for responding. The thing is, i already bought the Exp-1 Pedal. So for now, buying another one would not be viable. Is there anyone out there who has figured out the tweak on getting more out of this thing?
Thanks to all.

The filter plugin in fuse could prove useful, maybe some settings/tips
in the links could be applied to it.

In fuse, the ducking delay, before or after the filter is interesting
to experiment with. And try the pitch shifter also. There are bias and sag controls,
when used with a bassman cab might help the playability.
Cheers

Did you Calibrate the EXP 1 properly to the amp? When I first had my pedal I thought wtf?
Fender EXP 1 set up
The calibration procedure in the PDF manual is wrong. Fender have published an updated procedure:

https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/art ... ion-Pedal-

which says:

The EXP-1 expression pedal calibration procedure is as follows:
First Point: Only have one lead connected to the EXP-1 , that is the lead that is usually connected to the MSg going to the amp into the 4 button socket on Mustang.

-Press and hold UTIL while powering on, UTIL LED should light up for 1 second.
-Move the expression pedal between the desired heel and toe endpoints to set the range.
-Turn the encoder knob to the next Preset to complete the process.

To clarify a point that isn't explicit enough in the second step of the above instructions: you must first move the pedal, in one movement, to the desired heel movement; then, in one movement, move it to the desired toe position. Do this just once: don't waggle the pedal backwards and forwards, don't move it to the toe position before the heel position, etc.

Sorry if you already done it.

Thanks for your feedback. I'll take a look inside Fuse for more tweaking possibilities. The sound I get is nice, but basic. I'll let you all know what happens. Wish this thing was usable with other amps. It wouldn't have to lug the Mustang 3 with me to practice, where there is already a fully-equipped room.

Splinterz: Thank you for your instructions. I had not properly calibrated the EXP-1. Works great now.
