Anyone had any experience using the M-Audio EXP-1 expression pedal on a Mustang IV (or other) amp?

No I haven’t, but I believe the Fender EXP-1 is the only expression pedal that is compatible with Fender Musang amps. Proprietary technology.

From the M Audio website:

“M-Audio’s EX-P expression controller pedal works with all M-Audio MIDI controllers that have an expression pedal input”

Fender Mustang amp has no MIDI interface.

If you need MIDI, it can be added using Primova Sound's MIDX-20 usb to MIDI converter. Has two analog inputs as well as the two MIDI and USB connections that can also be used for expression pedals like the Roland EV-5.

SeaRefractor, how does that work when the Mustang amp has no MIDI ins or outs? I don't see how that would work with a Fender Mustang amp.

The MIDX-20 has two USB connections, one goes into the Fender Mustang. It then provides a bridge to two MIDI DIN connectors as well as to analog control ports for expression pedals.

Check out the video demo, works with the full Mustang I-IV and I-IV v2 editions.

Check out primovasound website for more detail Even includes a pdf in their downloads section that shows the full MIDI specification for the Fender Mustang MIDI bridge.

Oh yeah someone posted that video a while back. The problem is the sloppy implementation. Thin wires running all over the place. Maybe good for a home studio (where the pedal becomes less important) but that's about it for me.
