Silly question here, and couldn't find the answer...so I'll waste your time by starting a new thread (sorry).

I acquired a Mustang IV (used) in a trade. Mine included the 4 button footswitch, but I neglected to ask the original owner if the Mustang IV came with the footswitch, or if it is an "add-on".

I believe I read somewhere that the Mustang V head DOES come with the 4 button footswitch, but haven't found any info about this on the Mustang IV. So; can anyone who bought one new tell me if the footswitch is included with the amp, or something that has to be purchased separately?

AFAIK all the IV & 5 [v1 and v2 amps] indeed came with the 4 button included. I bought a v1 IV new, and it was in the box.

The III came with the 2 button.

Thank you KidBlast...appreciate the reply.

The amp is far more power than I actually need (all be it, it is one cool amp), and I already have the Super Champ X2 head & cabinet that runs Fuse...so I'm putting a new grill cloth on it (previous owner apparently let his cat sharpen it's claws on the original), then I'm gonna put it up for sale---and I was wondering if I had to add a little cost for the footswitch, or include it in (looks like I include it in).

it's kind of a shame to sell if for that reason. A Ferrari is too much power for your average person to use on the highway, but I sure wouldn't turn one down.

I think a major important difference between the MIII and the MIV is the 2x12 cabinet vs 1x12. It should fill a room better at any volume, and effects probably sound better with the 2x12.

The IV is actually a bit of a beast compared to the III. Lots more bottom end from the stock speakers.

I am trying to sell my IV as well. Not moving at the moment. it's mint too. Ah well..we'll have patience.

I hear ya...but there's a little more too it. I have a 100 watt Fender Ultimate Chorus that I absolutely love; that's plenty for me as far as double 12's with high watts go.
I've got nothing against the Mustang IV (acquired it in a trade for an inexpensive guitar that wasn't moving on Craigslist, so I'm hoping this amp moves quicker, and for more coin) just simply have no use for it.
It's definitely a power-house, and would NEVER be drowned out by even the most powerful drummer (John Bonham comes to mind)----but my Ultimate Chorus is nothing to sneeze at either for a Solid State amp.

Yah...getting harder and harder to sell gear these days. Everybody wants everything for free any more (except when THEY'RE selling, then they want an arm and a leg).
Patience is a must...and if nobody bites after a good long while; time to start looking at trades.

Yeah those Ultimate Chorus amps are great. I have the older 60watt version and used it exclusively for years. Takes pedals great, pretty dang loud for 60 watts (although I did hit the wall a couple of times). A nice simple rig that always works. And durability? I'm pretty sure you could roll my Ultimate down a set of stairs and it would still work 100%. It's bulletproof. I'd love to play through the 100watt version.

I've recently decided to sell a few guitars as well, and despite what you are saying being quite accurate, these transactions went according to plan, I priced them fairly enough. I think one is going to be a Christmas preset. (A MINT Epi Swingster Royale White)

..and.. Oddly enough, I got a bite on the IV last night. The potential buyer is quite a distance from where I am, I suggested we can meet at some public place in the middle. See how this goes.

Good luck w/Selling yours. They are nice amps.. I liked the IV just don't have much use for it. The cash will come in handy.

Cheers!

One thing that bothers me on these "public" auction/selling sites (I'll name names...eBay, Craigslist, and Reverb) is you get these guy's/gal's that have a variety of reasons for selling their gear so low---whether it's uneducated of the actual value, or just don't want/need/use the item, or even stoners looking for that next bag of weed...whatever the reason; THEY seem to be the ones that are setting the bar for buyers researching the cost of what they're looking to buy.
I hear it from time to time when people come across some gear that I might be trying to sell: "I've seen these going for $40 less on eBay"...to which my reply is always "well what is the shipping cost"...and that usually scares them off, because the shipping cost was probably $40 or more, and I embarrassed them. If they came back with a smart alec reply, I would simply tell them to buy the one on eBay, wait 5 to 7 days to see what you got...or meet me in a Wal-Mart parking lot, physically inspect the item, and go home with it that day.

Too many people on these sites that don't have a clue what they're doing...so it's definitely hard to sell gear for what you SHOULD be getting out of it.

I know what you're saying,, but I think the bar moves around, people usually KNOW what things are worth. as long as your pricing your for sale items appropriately enough, eventually the item will sell. my answer to the low ball offers is simple.. "no thanks"
