If you take a preset (such as British Steel) and you make any adjustment to your liking.... And then SAVE it - it DOES NOT ERASE the original settings for British Steel RIGHT? ... Because I want to keep the original British Steel default settings.

So when I DO Save it - when I come back and turn amp on - my saved settings BASED on British Steel does it appear in the list under another name? Or where to select?

If you want to keep the original settings on a preset, save your altered preset under a new name.

Take a look at the manual. It will tell you how to save adjusted presets under a different name.

Nice to see a first time poster and not to be confused with impostor being helped by a second time poster in here.

If this is a new amp, did you turn off Memory Lock? on by default.

And as mentioned you need to change the preset (find one that you simply will never use), and select THAT preset when you save changes to British Steel

To answer your question more directly... when you change any part of a preset (e.g. adjust the treble) the red "save" light kicks on. If you push it and save the changes, those changes overwrite the old preset, forever! Next time you turn on the amp the saved changes will be there, the old preset will be gone. So you can either do a backup and save all the presets to your computer then you can reload any of them using FUSE when ever you want and/or you can save your changes to a preset location that you do not want. But remember if you save the changed preset to another slot, what ever was in that target slot will be overwritten and lost forever... unless you have done a backup.

Hopefully that answers your question.

BTW - when I first got my Mustang III I was really scared to lose some of the original presets, but now I change them all the time and set up ones that work for me. I basically have one set of clean to crazy for each of my main guitars (Epiphone ES 335 and Am Std Strat) since they each have very different tonal qualities. I backup frequently so if I think I trashed something that was good then I can go back and download it back through FUSE.
