Can anyone offer advice about using my Takamine acoustic guitar through a mustang 3v2.. - that doesn't include purchasing a separate amp!! which amp? presets? thank you

About the best you'll be able to do is run the Mustang using the Basic Studio PreAmp Preset. Even with this clean preset, the Mustang's Preset's and Celestion 12" speaker are not designed for the full frequency harmonics of an Acoustic Electric guitar. Try other presets as you may. YMMV.

For anything that is designed to be plugged into a PA, you're better off plugging it into the Effects Return, (bypassing the preamp altogether).
It should also sound OK plugged into the aux-in.
You will possibly want to use the tone controls on the guitar to boost the treble and dampen the bass, for the reasons mentioned above.
