About two years ago I got my first guitar amplifier - Mustang I(v2). It's a great amp for a beginner who wants to explore and discover many guitar tones. However, it has many serious issues. I had two of the same model as I returned the first one on warranty due to issues 1 and 2. (The shop decided to send me a new amp because they couldn't fix it.)

1. Crackling master volume knob - in the first amp the issue appeared after a few weeks of using. Turning the knob rapidly from one end to another was only effective sometimes. The second Mustang had this problem from the beginning (it was new).
2. Stereo on phones output - for the most time I was using headphones connected to the amp. Over time I noticed that the left channel is louder, especially on lower frequencies. I was not hearing bad with my right ear nor were my headphones broken. As a proof for the broken stereo I recorded playing on the overdriven channel in stereo using audacity, connecting through phones output. It's easy to notice that upper tracks are louder:

3. Fender Fuse software problems:
3.1 Saving, changing preset names - last week I noticed that I couldn't save new presets using Fuse (Win10) every time I tried to change the name of a red preset I could only see the old name. I tried saving on my PC and in the amplifier but the backup wouldn't save and on the amp nothing was changing. Saving preset settings was only possible by using the save button on amplifier.
3.2 Crashing/freezing - the app used to crash a lot, in tuning mode, while changing the cabinet and sometimes without a clear reason.
3.3 Stuck on syncing - impossible to use the app because it freezes instantly after connecting usb/turning on plugged amp/launching the app with the connected amp.

Now after I performed a factory reset and reinstalled Fuse I’m only left with the “standard” empty amp. I can't even change any major setting without the app. Mustang was good, even with the first two issues I didn’t want to change it because it was very easy to use, had everything needed (effects, amp models cabs etc) and didn't sound bad (especially clean tones). Unfortunately I can't recommend the amplifier to anyone now. The new line has just launched so there probably won't be any update/fix for the Fuse. Digital Fender amplifiers are dead to me. Both models I had couldn't last longer than a year, plus the fact that both came with broken headphone outputs from the factory does not say anything good about the company. That sums up my experience with Mustang amps.

Your experience was clearly frustrating. I have two combos, both version 1, bought well before the V2s were available. (a III and a IV) They have both worked with out a lot of hassle. That said, I also have three good tube combos, that have been very reliable for me.

Really a shame that you have had this experience, it doesn't seem to be the norm with these amps.

From what I've read about the new GTs, they seem to have their fair share of problems too.
