Hi, I am trying hard to protect my hearing while playing live but the usual musician's earplugs (with different filters) always leave me so frustrated that I have to pull them out mid gig. The issues is that while they are effective in reducing the overall volume I can't hear my guitar!
I have been thinking that I have a pair of corded iem that isolate the outside noise relatively well and I was wondering if there is a way to drive the output of my Mustang III v2 to the iem without bypassing the speaker. This way I could hear what I am playing without getting bleeding ears....
Hope it makes sense,
DrF

You need to feed your IEM from the monitor board. If you feed only guitar into them, then all you'll hear is guitar.

You'll probably end up wanting your guitar, bass, kick/SN/hat, a vocal mix, and one of the ambient mics in your IEM mix.

When you say you've tried musicians earplugs and couldn't hear yourself, were you actually trying musicians earplugs which are molded, have a hole through them to let music in, a fairly flat frequency attenuation, and not just foam or silicone plugs from a music store?
