I've learned here that by holding "Tap" while turning on a Mustang I will put it into a "clean" tone mode. I've been looking for a way to play my acoustic electric and my Roland synth in a small room without needing more equipment. Would the clean that this creates be appropriate for acoustic guitar and/or synth?

Yes, although the speaker itself has a non-linear frequency response range, so don't expect too much clarity on the treble end. Even cheap studio monitors will have a much wider and flatter frequency range.
