Hi . I looked for answers but am still a little confused to as if this will be safe for my amp.

I'd like to remove the 4 X Rocket 50's 16 Ohm

and add these:
2 x Celestion 70/80's from my Mustang 4 V2 8 Ohm
2 x Celestion g12n-65 8 Ohm

Am I forced to use 16 Ohm speakers when using the Mustang V v2 Head?

Sorry if this has been answered.. I am a little wary with watts and ohms.
Thanks

Mustang V owners manual write 8 ohms minimum ( at 75 watts )

http://cdn2.fender.com/support/manuals/ ... _I-IV_(V.2)_Advanced_Manual_Rev-A_English.pdf

16 ohms is ok

You need;
One speaker at 8 or 16 ohms 75 watts ( or more ) is ok
2 speaker at 37.5 watts ( or more ) each= 75 watts

Understand ?

Thanks for the reply.
For single cabs I understand.. wiring in series and parallel with Ohms I'm still lost.

By my guess it would be a bad idea changing the 4 X Rocket 50's 16 Ohm out for 4 x 8 Ohm ones?

Not bad, not good. One cab would be 16 ohms, other. Both play

Thanks.
Will my speakers and amp electronics be safe though if I do this?
