Sorry, I could not re-locate the thread about considering
a Mustang or GT more of synth, but the idea sounds nice
so I start this new one.

A solid-state amp, with all the new features of today and tomorrow seems indeed more like a synth without the delay - hopefully.

I am a Bop/Funk player and like to control my sound
ahead of the console everywhere, on stage mainly.

The basic Bop sound is a tube amp (2 are better)
with no effects/pedals at all.
Think of Joe Pass, Kenny Burrell, Pat Martino.

Once at the FFM fair Germany someone told me,
guitar players do it with their fingers, I dug that.

When it comes to Pat Metheney, Tuck Andress et al,
there is more electronics involved than you want to think of, more money than what you want to invest besides your knowledge in music.

At this point, a modelling amp comes in handy, or,
in extremo, a laptop with a DAW and in-ear monitoring.

Think John Mc Laughlin's rig.
A bag of cloths, a computer and a guitar case,
sitting at the railway station waiting for some destination...

I just wanted to add some ambience to my sound,
so I chose a Mustang IV V.2, loud, clean and then some

I got the idea a long time ago, then I saw Steve Howe
of Yes talking on Premiere Guitar about modelling amps
