Hello;
Can I use an instrument other than an electric guitar?
Acoustic or classic guitar and maybe bass guitar.

Yep!!!

I wouldn't crank it really loud with the bass though.

As above, yup! :)

I've not been happy with the sound when I've plugged in my Yamaha electric/acoustic though... can't explain it... maybe I haven't tried hard enough.

Bass with Bassman preset is good... but yeah, recommended not to crank it up too loud... but that's ok for me since I'm not a big bass player and just want to use it for recording... so with lineout record and low volume, I can hear it for practice and then record... nice feature!

Have you tried the 65 Twin or the Studio Preamp?

Haha! I kind of consider my MIII v2 to be my digital 65 Twin! Seriously, the only amp I use (other than for bass). My first 5 presets are now variations based on the 65 Twin, optimized for different sounds and guitars.

Also, I'm not sure I like the sound of a electric/acoustic... I only have one for playing open mics because it's just easier. When I record acoustic, I use a pure acoustic and mic it.

:)

The Twin is my favorite go to patch with different iterations as well. Fender nailed that one.
