I have a gig in three days. I went to pull the two celestions out of the mustang iv and replace. I have taken the screws out of one speaker (rear mounted it appears) and that speaker just won't remove....like it is attached somewhere else. Can anyone provide some input? I don't want to dissect the amp.....

I assume, your gig went well without changing speakers?
But the question still keeps nagging your bones?
Do not do it yourself, have a qualified technician replace the speakers with EV 12L. This will cost you 2.5 amps.
Be aware, you will also have to reprogram all of your presets,
due to the new characteristics.
A friend of mine, who owns a really big music store,
had someone built a speaker cabinet with all the major brands
in it for comparison, the results were amazing to my ears.
Even Steve Morse is constantly changing speakers,
so it might be as well a never ending search...

Well your gig is long past, but in case anyone else has the same issue, I encountered this problem when I swapped the stock Celestion for an Eminence Delta Pro 12a in my Mustang III v2.

The speaker is lightly glued to the cabinet on the top half of the rim. Just slide a razor between the speaker rim and cabinet to break the seal.

But make sure your amp is lying flat, not vertical or your speaker will fall with a crash and possibly damage the mesh.
