Hi!

I have a Mustang 3 (v.2) and my guitar is a Strat (Tex Mex pickups). I'm very happy with the amp but I have some questions/problems about it.

1) When I'm using Fender Bassman amp model + Fuzz pedal (the one whith the Octave knob) with level and gain knobs (the pedal ones) bellow 12 o'clock, the notes dies suddenly after being plucked, the volume drops out completely after playing a note/chord. This happens just with the Fuzz pedal + Bassman model. Do you have noticed the same with this model/pedal configuration? Is it normal?

2) The Deluxe 57 model sounds a little noisy when cranked. The sound is similar to a broken speaker. It just happens with this model. Is it normal?

3) The Princeton model (even clean and without any effect) hums/buzzes too much (the Deluxe 65 or Twin 65 are very quiet). The hum is not much different than the Metal models. Is it normal? Is the PR more noisier than the D65 or T65 models?

Thanks and sorry for my English!

it could just be the tex mex pickups and the normal noise single coil pickups make.

Is this noise all happening with the guitar plugged in?

What happens if you turn the guitar volume to ZERO

What happens if you have no guitar cable plugged into the input?

Do you have a guitar with humbuckers you could try ?

The noise (it sounds like a hiss or white noise) also happens with the guitar unplugged and becomes very noticeable when turning the Master Volume up past 2 (but it can be heard even at 1) on the 65 Princeton and 60's Thrift models. The rest of the amp models are very quiet.

The problem with the Bassman model + Fuzz pedal happens when the gain knob of the pedal is around 10-40%.

Both problems also happens using FUSE.

I don't think fuse has anything to do with it.

have you tried changing some of the settings in these presets to see if it's the preset's settings causing them?

A few things you may want to try....

Start with the Basic Factory Amp Presets. The ones that by default are found in Memory Slots 83 through 99. These have no FX enabled. The Amp models in each of these 17 Presets have each of their settings at Factory Default.

By contrast, the same Amp model in any of the Factory Default Presets 00 through 82 may indeed have some of it's Parameter Values (Amp Model Values and Advanced Amp Parameters) set to values other than the Factory Defaults (as found in the Factory Default Preset Amp, or, when the Amp is selected from the Amp Menu). The same goes for any applied FX in Presets 00-82. The FX may not be set to their Factory Defaults as you find them when you select an FX from any of the Four FX Bank menus.

If you have not customized any Presets that you have not already backed up using Fender Fuse or the Android Remuda App, you may want to consider doing a Factory Reset on the Amp. This will entirely wipe any changes and start clean from scratch under the installed firmware.

There are numerous configurations of the Mustang's Amp and FX settings that can cause the DSP to clip and unusally distort. When you encounter those, simply reduce the Gain, Drive, FX Level, etc., to explore if you can still achieve the desired results with overloading the DSP. Often simply starting with a different one of the 17 offered amp models can go a decent way to achieving the desired results before also loading in FX. And, often significantly decreasing the Gain, Preset Volume and Advanced Amp settings of some of the higher gain amps, can reveal very usable tones other than how their factory default settings are configured. This can also lead to interesting results when FX are used. A little adjustment can go a long way with the Mustang.

Hope this helps you get good results....

Thanks for your replies!

Yes, I've tried the Basic Factory Amp Presets (83-99) and I've done all kind of adjustments. I always create all my presets from scratch.

I've read in some forums (there are also some Youtube videos showing the same problem) that Princeton and 60's Thrift amp models are a little noisier than the other ones, so it seems that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. The culprit seems to be the Preset Volume. Turning it down resolves the problem. I've also read that some people have resolved it doing a Factory Reset on the amp.
