Hi all,
just joined this forum and wanted to say hi to everyone and share some of my ideas about
Mustang II v2 and it´s settings.

I bought the amp 3 months ago and what a struggle it has been trying to dial in a great settings. Luckily I found Fender fuse, and that is a great place. But I always thought that the settings that I downloaded there were "to much of everything".

I could not get a descent sound from the amp. Well, The Vox and Bassman were pretty OK, the last 3 of every colour - horrible.

But not to worry. I found out a way how to do it.

I start out with a new setting. Let´s say "British 60´s": I turn up my amps master volume to about 7 or 8. Then turn down all other knobs to zero. Click on "Advanced amp", and change that "master volume" to 3 o´clock. Noise gate to mid, but turn depth all the way back to the left. Stuff like SAG and Bias etc, leave it for now.

To the right of the image of the amp is a place where you place the pedals you like. Start out with fender reverb 63 or 65, just about 9 %. Then "Simple comp" , low setting, from post gain. Tape delay 20% and daytime 225 MS.

Get the gain knob (in the image) to about 2, treb mid and bass about 12, and vol where you like it. Remember your real amp has it´s master quite high, so take it slow.

Tweak the knobs little by little. If you turn down vol, gain is going up, then you take the master down, and so on...all knobs are connected to each other. Just remember that "volume" is the most important knob - the leader of the knobs!

Balance! It get you great presets. An easy way to check it is to strum an E shape chord, and listen if there is some unbalanced sound (it oscillates). To much treble: take it down, or raise the bass a little. Or much better, go to SAG and Bias and check out different combinations between them. Maybe you have to change the "Simple Comp" to "Overdrive". Then take down the overdrive gain to 0 and raise the level to balance it up. When you're strumming sounds "even", then your preset is done.

The Brit 60 is quite easy with 2x12c, or 4x12G cabinets. More difficult is the Marshall. Most difficult, I think, is the Fender 57 Champ. But it can be done with much patience. The metal ones...forget about them.

But, not to forget, tweaking your amp is an interesting and fun way to spend your time. The Mustang II amp is a fantastic amp. Sometimes it drives you very angry. Sometimes you fall in love with it.

Take care,
WT
