Hi Guys, I have the Mustang IV and a quick question. Is it possible to transpose the entire amp by -1 semitone or is it possible to download extra pedals / mods that would also do this if applied?

Thanks HIO! For an "emulated approximation of real sound waves, colored by a loudspeaker and cabinet, and their added unique audio qualities" ... I think it sounds pretty darn natural!

Just a couple of quick thoughts on the Mustang III v2. Bought this amp a couple of months ago and, although it indeed has not received much attention from Fender for a long time, the amp works great and offers limitless possibilities to play and tweak with sound. The Fuse Software works great (at least for me) and the amp takes pedals (provided to select a clean pre-amp or very low gain amp) very well. (although I would not recommend using the effects loop because pedals in the loop will suck tone).

I feel it still is a very good amp for the money you'll be likely to pay for it (new or used) and is suited to be used for gigs as well as for bedroom players.

I've decided to pass on the Mustang III and will be buying a nice used Peavey Delta Blues 115 tube amp for blues.
Best blues sounding amp I have ever heard.

I've been playing for 40 years. In and out of bands for fun. Just play at home now, and record for fun. I own a Peavey DB115 and a Mustang 3v2. The DB115 is a great sounding blues (and classic/southern rock) amp, especially with a tele. However, I hardly ever play the DB since I got the Mustang couple years ago. The Mustang offers such a variety of great tones, and is alot of fun! Side by side, yes the DB is fuller and warmer, but it is only one amp. I ran a Boss ME70 multi-effects in front of it along with few more favorite pedals, to give variety. Now, I use just the preamp on the DB and run it into S-Gear for different power amps and cab impulses. If you can not crank the DB, and tire of a one amp sound, I would go with the Mustang. That's a really tough choice though. Get both and put them on a Morley ABY pedal like I do lol.

↑ Kind of like what he said.

+1 The Mustangs are so versatile with amp sounds along with effects that I will never go back to tube amps and have been playing for decades professionally. Reliable too. Not to say I am not open to new modeling amps. Just saying because it has been dead in here.

Can you post a recording for comparison? Here's one of mine:

Strings,

Thank you for sharing these by the way! I found them on Youtube when I was deciding whether or not to buy a 'Stang for myself, and they helped make the decision easy for me!

thanks Andy, that's good to hear! I wanted to bring some positive attention to the Mustang series because I was having so much fun with it.

It really depends on your style of music you play. I owned a Vypyr 75 and a Sanperra II pedal for a few years. Mine died on me and I sold the pedal. The Mustang can do Metal but not as good as the Vypyr. Everything else in my opinion the Mustang is better.

I have been gigging my Mustang III for a couple years and it has been a Godsend. I use it with the 2 and 4 footswitches but also as a clean platform for other modeling pedals and it does a bang up job both ways.

In a word...yes.

It's a fun, but also serious amp for all sorts of sounds. Most smallish/medium gigs , it's fine.

Versatile, inexpensive and a real clincher for me, it's not very heavy. You can get it in and out of the boot no problem.

Go for it. If you don't like it, resell.

That was only a problem with certain ones. Mine doesn't have that problem.

I'd still like to have a Mustang III someday.
I like the red ones, they look cool.
