Hi I got a mustang I for my daughter and was wondering if there was a way to negate all presets and play the amp with no reverb/minimal gain. Everything I've tried will not allow me to do this. Just looking for a setting where she can play notes and chords with no to minimal distortion/reverb/ring.

Thanks

If your amp has the Studio Preamp amp, you can use that, and just remove all effects from your preset. If it doesn't have that amp model, you can use a Fender Twin with the gain dialed down low.
I think this answers what you're asking?

The Mustang I/II don't have a Studio amp model. There are 8 amp models to choose from, while the III/IV/V have 17.
None of the models are neutral. A couple of them are "Fender clean", which isn't neutral at all, but with emulation of the typical Fender tube ringing and scooped sound, even with all effects off and gain turned down.

The only way to get a neutral clean out of a Mustang I/II is to set your volume, turn it off, then hold the TAP button while turning it on. That puts it in bypass mode. Don't touch any controls, though.

Hi - I am new on the Forum and thank you for the answer about how to bypass presets. :D

LOL - the support documentation seems to be written for sound engineers rather than musicians or even budding musicians? And that cloud of confusion seems to make it difficult to see how awesome the Mustang amp is?

the MI and MII onboard interface is pretty limited, install fuse and manage the settings with your PC, you'll find it quite a bit easier to get the sounds dialed in.

Agreed - it does have a steep learning curve to any new user. It is understandable if a budding or aspiring user feels disappointed.

If my experience is anything to go by - I have had the amp for 3 days now - it is worth making the extra effort to use Fender FUSE from computer.

Aim for fender twin or Brit 60s as amplifier; and adjust the gain to about 3. It may be helpful to put in a Reverb: large hall with some minor adjustments to the settings.

Maybe it would be good if presets had an: electro-acoustic INPUT with tiny bit echo on a clean lo-gain setting? One for Fender to do?
