I just purchased a supposedly new Mustang III V2 and I am trying to find a factory preset list. I found one list on the Fender site that was created on an Excel spread sheet. Unfortunately the list they have does not match my preset 00-100. So now I am wondering if I was sold a used amp with somebody else's presets or I downloaded an old list and these are new factory presets in my amp. So if somebody could guide me to the newest Mustang III V2 preset list it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Press the Mustang's Menu Button 8 or 9 times to access the firmware display. The current version (since 2014) is 2.2.

If the amp has the latest firmware installed, you may perform a Factory Reset which will restore all the amp's features and settings (including the Presets) to their orginal values.

Music Law, thanks for your feed back. What I am really trying to find out is if this amp that the music store I bought it from sold me a new or used amp. It was supposed to be a brand new out of the box amp. I have been borrowing a friends MIII for the last 2 months, that he bought used a few years ago. The preset list I recently found on Fenders website matches all his presets. My brand new amp does not match the Fender preset list or his presets and there are a lot of preset names on my new amp, that are not even on the list. I do like a lot of the presets on my new amp. I guess doing a factory reset will tell the truth,if they sold me a used amp for a new amp price. Unless maybe the list I downloaded and my friends amp are maybe a MIII V1 amp and I know my new amp is a V2 and maybe Fender has added presets with different names on the V2 version. Is that a possibility? Also I don't want to lose a lot of the presets on my new/used amp if I do the factory reset and find out it was used. How can I save them, before I try a reset to see if it was previously used?

Fender's 5 Year Warranty is transferrable, so long as you have the receipt from the original purchaser. If the shop you bought it from is an Authorized Fender Reseller, absolutely obtain an official purchase receipt from them with your name as the original purchaser. Even if they are selling you a Used Amp, if they can get you the receipt from the original purchaser you should be covered. If not, you may want to consider rescinding your deal and buy a brand new amp.

As for the Presets, there are many available from the Fender FUSE Online User community which is freely accessible using the free Fender FUSE software (included free with all Mustang Amps). There are thousands of Presets available on the FUSE site for download and installation to the Amp, however, they are not on the Amp as factory presets. I could be possible the store did so, or a prior owner, but the store will be able to give you some indication if they did so or not. If not, it likely a used unit. That doesn't make it bad nor faulty, but may put your warranty coverage in jeopardy.

Either way, using Fender FUSE (PC or Mac) you can access the FUSE site. If you have an Android Smartphone or Tablet, there is also an exceptional Android App known as REMUDA. This does things that FUSE cannot. And, REMUDA can also greatly assist with your Preset management, installation, organization, etc. on the Amp. Only FUSE can install firmware to the Mustang; Remuda cannot.

If the amp was new and complete, you should have received the power cable, a USB Mini to USB cable, the 2 Button Footswith and the 1/4" TS to 1/4" TS Black Zip cord style footswitch cable.

The easiest thing to do is check the Firmware version appearing on the LCD Display via the Menu Button. REMUDA also will show you the Amp's firmware, but you will need a USB OTG (On The Go) adapter to make the connetion from your Android device to the USB cable to connect to the Amp's USB port. If the Amp has 2.2 firmware, then simply use either FUSE or REMUDA to backup all the Presets currently on your Amp. Then do the Factory Reset to get back all the original Presets from the current firmware.

Using REMUDA it is a lot easier to restore, organize and manage the Presets. You can Drag & Drop to organize them on the amp. Also once you have the backups, or any downloads of Preset files you may wish to obtain from the FUSE site or exchange with your friend, doing so can be done with a USB Thumb driver or via email attachment between and amongst your computers, Android devices, users, etc. REMUDA even now supports wireless bluetooth editing and full control of the Mustang! There's a Free version of REMUDA on the Google Play App store to see if it works for you, and the Full version may still be on sale for a few dollars less than the normal price.

Whichever way suits you best, so long as you're not having any problems with the hardware, you'll be able to find a way to work with the Presets to get those that you like into your Mustang, or backed up.

Hope this helps, and is not too much info. Post back with any further questions you may have, as there are plenty of us here to help. Happy Holidays, and enjoy your Mustang! It is a terrific amp, and sounds much better once you dial in the Presets to your tastes, your guitars and your playing style.

So what you are seeking is a list of the factory preset names, and perhaps their control settings, and add-on effects and their settings, for each of those presets. I think you may have to just do a factory reset, which will overwrite all of the presets that are currently loaded in your amp including the basic amp presets at locations 83 - 99 with the original factory defaut settings. Then you can start from scratch.
