Does anyone know if this is possible: can I record chords through my looping pedal with one preset sound and then solo over it with a different preset sound? For example, can I loop chords in "juicy clean" and solo over them in "highly driven?"

Thanks!

if your mustang has an FX loop, yes. The sound you record on the looper will not be altered when you change presets as it is when you run it as part of the signal path.

See Fender's Mustang Support area for the FX Loop information and the downloadable PDF block diagram and explanations how the FX Loop may be configured for "Normal" vs. "Looper" operation via the Mustang's Options Menu Looper setting for v.2 Mustang Amps.

Also see the Fender Mustang Amps and Fuse Wikia created by a Fender Forums member last year. It is an exceptional compilation.

If its a V2 you need to hit util button multiple times and change FX to looper from Normal.

On a v1 it will work correctly (there is no setting for this on a v1 anyway)

Tap the MENU Button 8x to reach the Looper Menu. Use the Data Wheel to set the option.

Thanks for the replies, but there must be some other problem. Setting it to "looper" doesn't work.
