I recently acquired a Mustang III (v2) and am quite impressed. I have one big issue that I can't seem to find an answer in the manual.

Is there any way to have the amp remember what preset was loaded and in use when the amp is turned off so that when turned back on it returns to the preset that was in use? It is driving me nuts that everytime I turn on the amp I must scroll through the presets to reach what I was last using.

Thank you for your time,

To my knowledge, no. Your best bet is to save your favoite patch to the 01 slot. This way when you boot the amp you have something useable. That Liquid Solo was awful, especially since I played hollow bodies prone to feedback

Enjoy your new amp. Play it in good health.

Thanks Bill. Not the answer I was looking for but sort of what I anticipated.

Have a great day.

For the money, the 'Stangs are not bad and I enjoyed my IV V2 for a few years. Like a number of other guitarists, I needed something more than the Mustangs offered.

My current rig is a Super-Sonic 22 with a newly added Boss GT-100 multifx floor unit. The GT-100 is hooked up using the four cable method. This allows me to use the great pedals and other features of the GT-100, but avoid the GT-100 amp models from coloring the tone of the SS22's preamps. Really works great.

There are two ways to go.
1. As Bill said put the preset you want to come up in position 00 (Not 01) Which is what the amp defaults to each time it is switched on.

2. If you control the amp with the Remuda app from the Play Store, I believe you can select which preset you want to appear when starting the app. The app also has controls of other functions that the Fender Fuse software lacks. There is a free Lite version of the app that you can try. This will enable you to test it and see if it works for you. Hope this helps.

Thx for pointing out 00 as opposed to 01. Sold my MIV back in February/March. Still have the Mini, but with the simpler interface without the LCD, I had no reference point as a reminder.

Michael,

If you haven't yet decided on your preferred Preset to put into the Mustang's Memory 00 slot, the Basic Studio Preamp (found by Default in Memory Slot 83) is a good candidate. Swapping (actually copying to move) these will avoid the over the top default Liquid Solo preset every time the amp powers on.

If you do have an Android device, the REMUDA App's Settings allows you to easily choose which Preset the amp will switch to following power on. REMUDA also has Drag and Drop for reorganizing the Presets and changing the order of the signal chain.

REMUDA does remember your preferred Amp and FX settings parameters. Nonetheless, it does not remember what Memory Slot Preset was in use before turning the amp off. I have suggested this feature enhancement to REMUDA's existing user configurable start up preset option. I encourage other users to email REMUDA's developer should you feel the feature would be useful.

Wow. Lots of good info. Thanks to all. I do not have an Android device, I'm an iPhone user but the swap to Basic Preamp patch is a great idea. As I noted earlier, I just got this amp. I wasn't looking for an amp (I've got an EC VibroChamp) but it was part of a package deal with a Modern Player Telecaster Plus that I did want. And the guy gave me a great price on it.

I am going to be spending some time learning this as it can be loud enough to play with a live drummer which the EC VC has a hard time doing if not mic'd.

Thanks again,
Michael

Michael, also take a look at the Mustang Wikia. Use the Forums' Search Tool or Google it. One of the Forum members collected a great span of Mustang related information and it is a good resource.
