Hello friends,

it has been a while since my last post, i had troubles logging in, but i came here often as a reader to keep me updated.

After some day of struggling with the friends of the support i am finally back.

The reason to struggle to post here is that i started a new project (it is a fork of an existing one TBO).

I always wanted a better foot control for my mustang I and recenlty i discovered the Mustang-Midi-bridge project that did a very good project that i could use to make a program that runs under my raspberry and uses cheap usb footswitch. It also should control tuner and preset change via command line.

Actually i am at a very good point: i am succesfully using a single usb stomp to toggle between 3 preset.

The project is Opensource so if you are someway interested it is and will be totally free. Should work on any linux platform.

The reason i am telling here (and maybe later on some other forum) is because i am searching from some betatester.

If you'd like to help me all you need is a Mustang, a raspberry, an usb footpedal (price range 10-20$ one or three footswitch). I will give you full support in the installation.

Here is the project:

more informations can be found in my blog.

I just upload sources for the very first usable version.

From now with a raspberry attached to a mustang and a cheap usb footswith i can switch between 3 preset. As i espected this is very comfortable, i think that fender should have come to this by first.

Here's my todo list for the future:

- clean and organize output
- move preset dumps to a folder
- dump preset restore
- single parameter control via command line
- support for 3 pedal USB (only need to buy one to test, in fact)
- support for 2 different usb pedal devices ( 1+1 single pedal, 1 single + 1 triple, 2 triple pedal)
- installation guide (will buy a new raspberry with 3.5 display very soon)
- support for configuration file
- fully configurable footswitch behavior via configuration file or command line
- graphical fronted for a 3.5' display resolution
- support for preset editing via touch display
- increase responsivness of preset change

suggestion are welcome!

I'm not sure I fully understand what this is.
I think you have the raspberry connected to the amp over its USB input and sending it commands based on the USB switches connected to the raspberry? This lets you program what each switch does.
Did I get it right?
Can you point to an example of a USB switch?
Doesn't the raspberry have simple on/off IO ports that you could use to connect regular switches to? Why use USB?

https://www.amazon.com/KingMas-Control- ... =usb+pedal

this is the one i'm using right now.

And yes, i think that regoular footswitch may be connected but in this phase usb was much easier to do and i had already one at home. Later i will develop a function to support non-usb footswitches.

Actually i'm testing libraries to do the graphic part and support to multiple usb foots (actually will only support a single triple footswitch that i dont own so i did not test it).
