Here's a fascinating post from "ttbit" regarding his breakthrough Android Bluetooth to USB Mustang Amp Interface Prototype. He posted it yesterday to a Fender Mustang amp owners thread on the MyLesPaul Forums.

Did you ever find out more? I can't even see his picture of the hardware.
Having a wireless interface would definitely add a lot of value to the mustang and Remuda.

My understanding is that there are two works in progress....

Ibthinkbhe's using some small raspberry pie or similar tiny computer on chip that has Bluetooth support to talk to the phone and USB support to talk to the amp. He then has an app that "wraps" the mustang commands into a Bluetooth container, the CPU then strips the wrapper and sends it over USB.
That's how is do it anyway.
Because the mustangs use interrupt mode USB I think you need something smart like that to deal with the USB communication.
There is probably a tiny bit in latency, but nothing you care about unless maybe setting things like tap tempo.
I'd love to get my hands on instructions and schematics. I love Remuda but I'm almost never that close to my amp when i'd want to use it.

Crazy isn't it, that enthusiasts can get this sorted out, but a million dollar company like Fender can't get off its backside to do it. Or any update whatever for that matter. Listen to your customers, eh?

Yeah, she looks good and all but I don't like the sounds or I should say preset sounds.

The preset: Fuzz: P-Haze which is touted as an Octave fuzz for psychedelic Rock sounds absolutely horrid and probably the worst preset I have ever heard. What was Line 6 thinking? NOT!

Well if you like the sounds of a train wreck have at it.

Good news. I should have a Bluetooth enabled version of Remuda out by the end of Thanksgiving week. It will require two android devices in this first iteration BUT I will be working with "ttbit" to support his hardware transceiver. Cheers.

Two Android devices? That's brilliant, if not economical. I have an old tablet I could use, so can't wait to see that update. Let me know if you need beta testers.

It seems Fender has announced that they will have a new amp next year (for NAMM?) that will have wireless/bluetooth control. The Mustang and FUSE is pretty much a dead end, so that it's a new amp isn't unexpected.

Let's hope that they will have Android support too, and not just iOS. There's a heck of a lot more Android devices out there, so why Fender up to now have been sticking to iOS, I just don't get.
