I have a USB-C connector on my cell phone.

Has anyone seen USB-C to Mini USB or do I just get USB-C to Micro and then a Micro to Mini adapter?

Will this work? It doesn't say OTG, though. Maybe I can find it locally in stores:

You can resolve your cellphone's jack cabling needs issue by working and testing it from the other direction.

Using the presumed good (unless damaged) Fender USB cable furnished with your Mustang Amp (or any other equivalent USB cable) that your have confirmed works with your Mustang amp and FUSE (via PC or Mac), bring that to the store. Then, simply get the USB cable adapter necessary to physically make the connection from the larger male end of Fender's USB cable to the female jack on your smartphone. The OTG abbreviation simply means "On The Go." These are typically short 5" approx adapter cords with a 90° connector to fit your phone's jack on one end, and a typical female USB jack at the other end.

Search Amazon, or Google for: "USB C OTG" adapter. There are plenty of them listed.

I was thinking maybe OTG had different wiring or something inside to make it different, that's why I wasn't sure if I needed one that specified OTG.

Read this elsewhere:

"This is where USB-on-the-go (OTG) comes in. It adds an extra pin to the micro-USB socket. If you plug a normal A-to-B USB cable, the device acts in peripheral mode. If you connect a special USB-OTG cable, it has the pin connected at one end, and the device at that end acts in host mode."

But anyway I'll get the USB C to USB adapter and try it.

This is an important distinction! It may also be why some reported that adapters they tried did not work properly.

After successfully installing and launching either version of REMUDA on your device, you will see REMUDA's advisory screen if No USB device or Amp is detected. This could because you have no cabling connected, the wrong cabling, the amp is off, or your device's USB host is not properly configured.

Here is a pin out of the two types of USB cables to show the differences.

Unfortunately, USB cables are not definitively marked with how they are wired. There's no way to know if the cable will work with a given USB device other than by actually trying the cable. Many devices won't charge or communicate properly unless the correct cable is used. I have several USB devices that suffer from this same issue: Polar Heart Rate Monitor watches, Nite-Rider Bike Lights, and a few others. Each only works with the properly wired cable.

Yes "MusicLaw you are correct "Unfortunately, USB cables are not definitively marked with how they are wired."
Many USB cables have the same configuration of plugs the one end. These can be Mini, Micro, Samsung 30 pin etc. All wired a specific way for the equipment they are intended to work with.
My Pin out diagram was only intended to point out what makes the cable an "On The Go" cable. The Sense pin must be connected to Ground in order for the cable to "Host" the other device.
The cable configuration shown is a standard USB cable. Other cables for specific devices will have their Sense pin connected to Ground to become an "On The Go" cable.
Hope I have not confused anyone.

I still haven't got a cable. Couldn't find anything in Radio Shack. I'm going to have to order something from Monoprice. I mean, $1.XX for a cable sure beats Radio Shack prices anyway.

I found mine at StarTech.com cost $4.99 for the 6 inch Samsung Galaxy to USB OTG adaptor male to female and it has a lifetime warranty. Good luck.

Are all Android devices capable of the "host mode" required to use an OTG cable? I can find nothing about it in the specs for my phone or my tablet. Both are non-rooted, if that matters.

An On The Go cable is required for Android phones and tablets in order for them to operate in host mode as far as I know. However, as things for these devices change so rapidly I would check first with the cable that came with the unit.

An easy test is to connect a USB thumb drive to your Android device. If the drive appears in your device's file manager and you can read and write files to it, you're good to go. A USB mouse, USB keyboard, or USB digital camera may also be used for the above test.

One REMUDA user posted on the Google Play Store that they had to configure their Android 6 (Marshmallow) device to operate in USB MTP Mode to properly act as a USB Host.
