If you go to the Community Presets and search for hot rod (with a space) ... there are several. Whether it's the tone you are looking for, only you would know.

I think that the emulation of the fender reverbs is very good on the mustang.

Can you point us to a sample of the tone you are looking for? (a video on youtube, a song...)

To archive a tone similar to the one in the video i may suggest you to use the bassman model*.

If you set gain from 3 to 4 you should archive a clean but compress sound. Since the hot rod looks like having a lot of mid and basses i have set eq with all the mids up, bass from 7 to 8 and treble around 4.

Select cabinet 2x12C should sound closer, keep the bias at 0%. SAG set to LESS or CENTRAL, both should work. Blend in the central position but i may also like the turn to the left, especiall on the cleans.

I use a 63 fender reverb for that magic.

Eventually just raise the gain to archive the dirt sound that follows on the video.

Let me know if you get close to the tone you desire.

Later i will upload a preset on the fuse site, but i need some time to refine.

*:I think that a similar result can be archived with the Fender Deluxe model, maybe with a more clean sound. I choose the bassman because from what i've read it should be the closest between the models available. The Hotrod is derived from the fender blues deluxe that cames from the Bassman indeed. The Blues deluxe was a modern version of the Bassman, lighter, more controls, dual channel with footswitch but with a weaker gain. The hotrod mainly fixed the gain problem. So i think that the bassman model of the mustang should make you very happy. It is a very good model with a sweet sweet overdrive and you can add more with the stomp in the 'stang.
