Well, I just bought the Mustang IV V.2. It ships tomorrow and free 2-day shipping. It might be here Saturday, Monday at latest.

Along with that I got the ESP branded hard shell case, because it fits my LTD EC-1000ET perfectly (or so I hope). I've had the guitar 5 months without a case. It's just hanging on my wall. Got something to clean the guitar and Dunlop Tortex III and Jazz III picks of various sizes.

Congratulations! You made a good choice. Enjoy the excited anticipation of the arrival of the package! Share any questions you may have so all of us who contribute here can help get you smoothly underway. If it suits you ahead of time, download the Mustang User Guide pdf from Fender's site, and get your software ready to go, and browse the Wikia, if you've not done so already. You're gonna have a blast with your new MIV!

It's on the vehicle for delivery! I had it shipped to another state because then they don't charge me sales tax. Probably costs me $4 for 2 gallons of gas and an hour of my time, as opposed to paying $60 in sales tax.

I know you can download presets online.. there's about 6400 of them. I assume from here is where I can browse:

https://fuse.fender.com/mustang/presets/

I wonder if there is a place one could download EVERY one in one zip file? If not, I may use automated software to download them all and put them online somewhere. Maybe I'll make an Excel Sheet on Google Docs that has info on every one as well.

That's always someone's fear.. something they bought won't be accessable one day.

This link should still work for the zip file you asked for above. It's a couple of years old, so it won't have the most recent presets, but it will have enough to keep you entertained for a while.

Terrific! Neuwirth, Thanks for posting this and reviving that old inactive thread.

As very few, if any, Forum users have browsed each and every one of the now more than 5,800 Mustang and Fuse Forum Topics and Pages (presently 4177 Mustang topics on 84 pages, and 1634 Fuse Topics on 33 pages), it is helpful and refreshing when they do get revived!

Perfect! Thanks for posting that zip file.

What is the "dupes" folder in there? I don't see them in the other folder, so I don't think they're duplicate.

I notice some filenames say Passport Mini, some Mustang, Some Mustang V2, and some MU. Will all those files work with the V.2?

There's a lot of presets in there.. nice.. over 6100.. and currently on the website there's less than 6400, so it's pretty close to complete. If I get time I may make an update to it.

OMG! What the heck did I buy? *giggle* I didn't look how big it was before I bought it. It doesn't fit in my Toyota Corolla trunk. It barely fits in the back seat and I have no rear view now lol.

I could have folded down the seat, but I that's too much work.

So, it's never good when someone is in the hospital. My Grandmother fell last Saturday. She's been in the hospital since then and now will be in rehab a few weeks. The good thing about it, is that nobody is home except me, so I'll get no looks or questions about "what is that" or "how much did it cost", etc.

Now that nobody is home I have time to figure out the best position to hide the amp. If she eventually does see it, I can say I got rid of the old one I had so it only cost me $20 or something like that.

Not much time to try the amp out tonight as I got home after 9PM and I have a lunch date tomorrow, which requires me to drive a long distance.

I couldn't resist at least trying it a little.. plugged it in and there was NO power. I freaked out. Then I remembered I have a wall outlet in my bedroom where the bottom plug for some reason does not work on anything higher powered. It works with my cell phone, but anything else doesn't seem to work. Not even my paper shredder.

So, I fiddled with all the presets really quick.. some of the built in ones sound nice, but a lot of them sound very similar. I'm no expert, but I think the amp sounds pretty good with my EMG active pickups.

On this amp, why is the rear open? Airflow? Acoustics?

I think the only thing I'd knock these amps for is appearance. They're boring as $@!&. For this price I want something sexier.

EDIT: I edited this post to say there's one more thing I do not like about the amp. Such a short power cable. I mean really.. 3 feet?

Mine came with a really long one. You can pretty much use any PC power cable, 18 gauge is more than enough to carry amps necessary to power it - there was another thread on this. My cable is about 10 foot long but my amp was used so someone may have bought a longer one for it before trading it in.

Both of my Mustangs came with power cords that were at least 6 feet. There's no problem using a longer instrument AC cord if you have one. Otherwise, simply get a heavy 12 or 14 gauge grounded three conductor extension cord to feed a surge protector power strip, and plug the amp into that.

The MIV's cabinet is an open back design to let the dual Celestion 12' spkrs roar and sing! No worries of overheating. If you need or choose to place it close to a wall that's fine. It will sound different in open space.

I see they haven't changed the look of the clunky Fuse software. I can't figure out how to browse presets from the web. I can open them from the zip file downloaded, no problem. I logged in, I selected web, I searched, nothing ever pops up.

What's the steps to load a preset into the pedal? I couldn't find that information. Let's say I have Fuse open and open the "hatebreed-wayne" tone. Here's what I am guessing I do: I should put myself in Mode 2, overwrite one of the presets in the amp, and then I'll be able to select that in the pedal?

Do you use the tuner built into the amp? Just asking. It seems to work fine, but I don't use the one in the Fender Fuse software. The "needle" seems to move all over.

So I think I follow your question...

it's not saving them to the pedal persay,

the 2 button pedal gives you 2 Quick Access presets. (QA1/QA2) in the "settings" part of the firmware's Util pages (eg: press the Util button on the amp and you'll be able to get to those settings)

So the first step is you select what presets you want to use as your quick access presets.

Once that is done, those are the presets that will be selected when you select QA1/QA2 on the foot switch or... a third quick access (QA3) is available if you have a 4 button foot switch, which is really worth the extra $$$)

I use the software rendered tuner all the time if I'm "plugged" in to fuse. The reason you see it move more than the LCD is it's able to display the pitch it's hearing with a higher level of detail than the one on the LCD. I think the LCD is 1/10 of a cent, where the Fuse displayed one is 1/100th of a cent.. (or something LIKE that!) Basically it's showing you a reading that is more accurate(?) cent wise, than what the LCD can show. I guess that's a reasonable way to summarize it
