I have a Mustang IV v2 that was a Christmas gift for my son. There was not a software cd included in the sealed box. We have downloaded fuse and installed. When we connect the amp it starts to sync, we get an error message saying Fuse has stopped working and the sync message continues indefinitely. We have followed all the support advice about uninstall, reinstall, nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BEYOND FRUSTRATED! We have spent hours messing with this! Thanks!

My understanding is it has been years since Fender provided a CD with the Mustangs. Neither of the Mustang (v2) amps I bought included a software CD. FUSE and the other bundled software programs are free downloads via Fender's website.

Is FUSE properly running on your computer when not trying to make/use the USB cable connection to the amp? Is the amp running properly when not connected to the computer? Are you using the Fender provided USB cable? Are you using a USB Extension cable?

If needed, you can try a Factory Reset on the Amp. Turn the amp off. Then Press and Hold the EXIT button while powering on the amp. Continue holding the Exit button until it is no longer illuminated. Do this without the amp connected to the computer!

You did not mention what type of computer you are using. PC? MAC? Which OS version? Confirm that no sediment/residual files (registry entries, etc.) remain and that you have entirely uninstalled FUSE! Some of these may have been corrupted and remain disruptive.

The FUSE software requires the presence of several other distibutables to operate. This is taken care of as FUSE installs. This can take a few minutes. Best to install FUSE without the amp yet connected.

If you have an Android device (Smartphone or Tablet) you can use the REMUDA App to fully control and edit the Mustang and backup all the Presets, as well as numerous things FUSE can not do! Nonetheless, FUSE is required to access the Fender's On-line FUSE Community Presets, and to update the amp's firmware. In the later context, it is very likey that your Mustang has the latest firmware (version 2.2), as Fender has not updated the firmware in several years. The firmware version installed in the amp is visible by tapping the UTIL button (8x) until the LCD display shows the firmware version. The firmware version is also displayed in FUSE and in REMUDA's setting screen. Also note that if FUSE is used to update the amp's firmware, as FUSE is older than the latest firmware version, FUSE will overwrite the amp's current firmware with an older version! To prevent this, the current firmware first needs to be downloaded to your computer and available to FUSE. This however, does not sound like your scenario.

You could try reinstalling Silverlight, I have heard that Fuse relies on that to run.

Do you have the latest USB Fender Mustang ASIO drivers installed?
