I can honestly say, this amp still hits a home run with me 5 years later. Endless possibilities with superb tone has made this amp king Weenie in my amp court..and I just don't see that changing

Was it intoxicated? How can a Pinto drive on the road? You mean ridden by a cowboy or cowgirl or something.

Have you ever seen a Mustang driving on the road? You must have seen a Pacer or a Gremlin.

This amp does a great job of keeping it fresh and exciting to play all the time. When you have so many great amp models and tones to choose from, it's hard for things to get stale. I have taken the 65 Princeton amp model and the 65 Deluxe amp model and have paired them with the 412XG cab. I've taken the 57 Deluxe amp model and have paired it with the 412XM cab. I don't know what the G or M signifies on these cabs but nonetheless, they sound amazing paired together.. at least to my ears. It's so nice to be able to make all these changes right at the amp and not have to go into fuse to change the amp models or cabs should I say

It certainly made gigging out an absolute breeze for me by being able to designate a preset for each song on the set-list ..how cool is that

Only been 2 years for me, but same here. I never start dreaming of a different amp because anytime i feel the need for improvement i usually find it, and often within the same model i mainly use, the supersonic. I used the 59 bassman for a long time and loved it, but at a certain point it changed to the SS and from that point till now i have gone thru a number of revisions to my main SS preset. Just a few days ago i retweaked it and found and even better setting for it. I save them all in a bank of 10 rather than overwriting them. This way i can go back to older versions and see which ones after a time still stand out of pale compared to the newer versions and delete the ones that i definately find inferior after a time. So the amp just keeps getting better as i find better tweaks.

I CAN see myself trying and possibly buying another amp if one should come along that could be better. The marshall code has my interest, not because i feel any need to replace the mustang but because reading various forums theres so much interest over it i can't help but see what others say and listen to the demos. And having always been a marshall user more than fender, it has piqued my interest. The marshall models in the mustang are IMO weak. So i may try one when they arrive and if it kills it could replace the mustang. Or better yet keep both unless one turns out to be too much better than the other to not closet it. But if i wasn't such a internet forum addict i'd never have known about the code and never gone out of my way to see whats new in the stores. I've played tube amps for 4 decades and hated non tube amps till i got the mustang. Since then i have never given tubes another thought and have been happier with the MIII than i ever was with any tube amp ! Crazy !

The Mustang has been on the market for nearly 6 years...no question that other variance of this amp are starting to come out ..and that's a good thing. Competition always sparks improvements and progress. With that said, the Mustang meets all my needs with my current skill set and what I enjoy playing.

Your approach to evolving the presets and saving the old ones to go back and evaluate later is something that I like to do as well :P I think part of that has to do with us evolving as a player and improving ..and the other part just trying to keep it fresh and interesting

Best of luck in your quest for the new Marshall code ..let me know how It goes :D

if you're on a quest for Marshall tone, I suggest you consider this, so you don't have to lose the Fender sounds to gain the Marshall sounds:

This is truly MIB (Marshall-in-a-box). And with a separate Tube Screamer-esque channel (pre gain button).

Naa, I don't want pedals and a new code amp is close to the same $ as that pedal. Plus i don't think i have to cite the 8 trillion advantages.

This is one area where the Mustang IV (v2) really stands out from the MIII (v2)! Played together they sound even better!

that is true, differences on the III verses the IV for some of the Marshall models... the IV definitely does a better job getting the marshall thump.

The only real problem ML that I see with your current rig or should I say rigs because you usually use both at the same time is not having nearly enough volume.
