You're all probably sick of hearing from me by now, but I've got another question.
I'm thinking about creating my own speaker cabinets (two vertical straight 2x12's) for my guitar. I will be using one as an extension cab for my amp (for small venues) and both of them as a combined 4x12 cab for my amp head (for larger venues). The amp is a Fender Mustang III V.2, which runs at 100 Watts and 8 ohms impedance. The amp head is a Fender Mustang V V.2 Mustang, which runs at 150 Watts and 8 ohms impedance. All of the speakers I have chosen would function in combination with another, so no worries there.
Now, I'm a huge fan of "British sound", and all the Mustang series amps come with Celestion speakers. I have yet to find another speaker company I like many speakers from, and so I am going to stick with Celestion speakers, I think. (Aside from two, that is.) I am looking for a mix of styles; I play metal, rock, and classic rock, although I do play some acoustic-style. I play through humbuckers, although feedback from single-coil fans is also great!
The speakers in question are:
Celestion─Classic Lead, Vintage 30, Heritage Series G12-65, G12 Century Vintage, G12-75, and Alnico Gold/Cream.
Jensen─Nighthawk/Blackbird 12
If I could get sound clips of any of these─guitar only (2 of one and 2 of another, top-bottom orientation), that would be wonderful. However, if that is not possible, a description of the combinations (any that you can give me) is much appreciated. I understand that a 4x12 will sound significantly different than 2 2x12's, but I'm just trying to match the sounds together right now. I'm kind of shooting for a Vintage 30-style mids with tighter, slightly punchier bass and richer, smoother highs.
