Hello!
Today I got my Mustang III V.2 with an extra 4 button switch. The sound is incredible together with my Fender Standard Stratocaster MIM Olympic White. I have now got 3 presets into the 4 button footswitch and it work out fine. But I cant assign 2 more presets to the 2 button footswitch? Any clue? I really need my 5 favourite presets when playing live. Anyone?

Cheers from Stefan, Sweden

Hi Stefan, I'm sorry to say that configuration is not supported. One thing you can do is set the 2-button footswitch to scroll up/down through the presets, while using the 4-button footswitch to select QA presets. But there are exactly 3 QA slots.

The 4 btn fsw is a great accessory for the MIII, as it provides the 3 Direct Quick Access Presets, as well as the Tuner/Mute Function, and the other Two Modes (Preset Navigation Up/Dn/Banks, and FX Bypass).

All you need do is place your Five (5) Presets in a contiguous bunch. For example, 1,2,3,4,5. Set the 4 btn fsw QA's to the middle three: 2,3,4. You may then set the 2 btn fsw for Up/Dn for direct single button access to Preset 1 and 5 on either side (of the middle three in the 4btn fsw Mode 1). You can also use Mode 2 on the 4btn fsw (in a single button press) to get to its Up/Dn Preset Navigation and in a single button press get to Presets 1 and 5. There are many variations.

It is too bad that Fender has not revised the Mustang firmware to support two different QA Presets for the 2btn fsw than the three assigned to the 4 btn fsw. This feature request and numerous others have been submitted to Fender long ago.

If you have an Android device the Remuda App has a Performance Mode that automatically swaps your assigned Footswitch Presets as you select Songs in SetLists. It works great!

Hope it helps you out! The Mustang III is a terrific amp! Even better when you get the best out of the accessories, and get through the amp's learning curve.

If you decide to keep it, get a look at the optional EXP-1 Expression and Volume Pedal. It adds another broad realm of versatility as you can control any individually selected and saved FX Parameter (and alternatively Volume) for each one of your 100 Presets!

Also, if you have not yet come across it, Google for the Mustang Wiki. It is a great collection of Mustang info. Here's the URL: http://fender-mustang-amps-and-fuse.wikia.com/wiki/Fender_Mustang_Amps_and_Fuse_Wiki

I will put through the test tomorrow and hopefully feel that it´s a keeper. I have seen 10-12 amp reviews the last 5-6 weeks before I decided on this little gem. I´m sure I will find that the lack of 5 QA presets is´nt such big trouble.

While the Mustang is a little limited using the 2 foot switches is still very nice setup with several options, I don't use many different tones so my setup is simple. I set the 4 button sw to recall 3 presets one is clean one is my Marshall crunch and the 3rd preset is set up as my lead boost basically just a louder and beefed up version of my Marshall patch. The 2 button switch is just set to turn on/off fx which for me is just stomp (overdrive) & Modulation (Chorus).

Take your time this amp is very good once you get things dialed in!
