Can anyone please explain to me why the master volume on my Mustang III doesn't work with the headphones plugged in but does on my Mustang II. Thanks

The Master Volume Pot does vary the signal level to the Headphones output jack. The control should be adjusting the Headphone's level.

Try performing a Master Reset of the Mustang III.

Confirm that the headphones, its plug and cable are all working correctly and that there are no intermittent stress shorts. Do this using another player device. Also try an entirely different pair of headphones or earbuds with your Mustang III, to isolate if the Master Volume pot problem also occurs with the other set.

If still no good, there is a problem with the MIII.

Dummy me! I was using the XLR out into a mixer on the Mustang III. It works fine when using the headphone out like on the Mustang II. Thanks for your reply.

Glad you got it sorted out. By the way, should you need it, there is a Line Out Boost for the XLR output on the Util Button options menu.
