Can I run the MS-2 and the MS-4 together through a single stereo cable (with two mono plugs at each end), or does each footswitch need its own ground lead?

Interesting question. Never considered it. My initial impression/first guess is that it would not work. They each require use of their respective and dedicated 1/4" jack on the Amp's rear panel. You would still need to physically split the signal to physically connect to the jacks. The versatile optional EXP-1 Expression & Volume Pedal is designed to connect between the 4btn fsw and the amp.

I can't find the schematic . With same ground it may not work properly, I can't say before you try.

Do footswitch need shielded wire or not ?
If not, find a 4 conductor cable and a multipole switch.
If need a shielded wire, run 2 cables side by side with tye rap.

I would have thought so because i checked the jacks and the grounds do not seem isolated from each other. But that said, i gutted my 2 and 4 button switches to put them in a custom pedal board and the shared ground caused it not to work properly. Once i isolated the grounds from each other it worked fine. Beats me why unless they are only isolated by a few ohms that my meter didn't register accurately being so low, and maybe thats all it takes.

I don't think so. The cable that came with my MS-4 is two wires next to each other, not coaxial.

No need to use the same ground. Use 4 cables wire with separate ground and double poles double throw switch
