When I use my HD 600 with the amp the sound seems to cut out every so often and is like far too quiet. That the guitar it's self is louder than the sound coming from the headphones. And only 1 mode preset has any decently sound and that the the mode I don't like. (Metal 2000)

Dear Icywolfe,

Thanks for your inquiry. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your Amp. Here are a few troubleshooting steps we would recommend.

1) Try your Headphones in another source verifying no cutting out is happening.
2) Reset Amp back to factory settings. Instructions are below.

Factory Restore
You can restore your Mustang amplifier to the original factory
settings if desired. All user presets will be erased!
To restore the Mustang amplifier to factory settings:
1. Turn the amplifier OFF.
2. Press and hold the EXIT button while turning the amplifier
ON. Continue holding the EXIT button until it is no longer
illuminated.

If after these to steps you are still experiencing your issue please e-mail Consumer Relations for instructions on sending Amp in for service. ConsumerRelations@fender.com

Please let us know if we can assist you further.

Best Regards,

I only got it a few days ago from Guitar Center.

I did the reset and still the same issue.

I did find a very not good fix for it... that was to hook up the guitar amp to my headphone amp. But that would mean the phone outlet for the guitar amp doesn't have enough power to power the headphone. So do you know if something like Mustang 2 will have a enough power on the headphone out?

The Sennheiser HD-600 has a 300 Ohm impedance, which is way more than can be driven by modern headphone outputs that are made to drive lightweight headphones which are usually in the 16-32 Ohm range.
You really need to plug it into either a stereo amplifier or a headphone amp. Or get easier driven cans. Grado headphones, for example, are around 32 Ohm nominal impedance, even the high end models.

I doubt that going to a Mustang II will make much of a difference here - the main difference is the amp output wattage and speaker.

I'm getting AKG K240/M220 very soon. Not sure how well that will be at 50 ohms. I suppose just quiet but hear-able.... As by plugging my HD600 + Fiio E07k to the Mustang I. I had to crank up the volume on the amp to hear something. I might have to adjust the gain, just worried if I plus the gain the odd buzz will increase too. But it doesn't say in the specs on the website if Fender even has any guitar amp with powered headphone out.

That guy from Guitar Center lied! He said the amp had powered headphone outputs for 300 ohms. Then again I won't blame him most don't use hard to drive cans....

--------------
If somebody asks about why don't I use the speaker on the amp. Well I don't want to let my neighbors hear my practicing. Like years ago they complained about my piano. That is why I want to use my HD600s as it's the my most natural sounding headphones so I can listen for any wrongs just like if I used the speakers on the amp, but on the quietest volume the amp's sound goes outside. (As my room's wall is next to the front door.)
