On my Mustang II from the power cord that is supplied with it I plan to use an extension cord to the electrical outlet. For now just an extension cord, but later perhaps an extension cord then to a power strip and subsequently the power strip to electrical outlet. Are there an factors I should heed? Thank you.

Use a power conditioner power strip that will supress power surges and spikes. For the extension cord use a heavy gauge three conductor cord.
