Good day all.

I have a Mustang III v2 and I want to be able to connect the amp to my laptop. Then I want to use headphones so I can play without disturbing anybody and hear both the music I play to and my guitar sound. Any suggestions?

Other equipment I use are two other pedals (Digitech Drop box and EHX Deluxe Big Muff).

Thanks in advance.

Plug your headphones into your amp and take the output of your laptop and plug it into your amp's auxiliary input.

You can use the auxiliary jack to input audio into your Mustang amplifier for accompaniment. Connect the headphone output on your laptop to the AUX jack using a mini-stereo cable. Use the volume control on your laptop together with the MASTER volume knob to adjust the auxiliary volume level. Your pedals will come through as well.

Thanks a bunch. Works like a charm. Had to use my newer laptop instead of an older one I normally use. When I plugged my older pc into the aux input of the amp, there was a large amount of noise/humming. None at all with my newer pc.

One more question. I would like to use wireless headphones into the amp?

Sounds like a ground loop hum. I assume you are talking about two laptops. When you write pc I think of a personal computer and not a laptop. Anyway, maybe the newer laptop is using batteries for now??? That would rid you of a ground loop. Your older laptop could be problematic though or there could be a myriad of other power issues.

What wireless headphones are you wanting to use? Bluetooth technology?

Your best results and least perceptible lag will be via connecting wired headphones to the amp's headphone's output and connecting your laptop's Audio Out to the amp's Aux In to play along with songs or backing tracks. Use the USB if you want to use your laptop as a DAW.
