I wanted to try those those applications and also start to record my playing for learning purpose. I do everything from instructions on fender page and installed ASIO drivers. But i don't have any sound of my guitar and I can't record anything in Ableton. In Amplitube I have sounds from my Mustang presets but not from Amplitube. What is wrong? Maybe I don't know how to configure ASIO driver. THis is how it looks(on this screen Mustang device is for some reason disabled but I've turned it on):

I never could get Ableton to work right. Followed all kinds of help from this forum and other places. Plus it just seemed too complicated. I moved onto Audacity. Its a free download off the web and I got it running right away. For me it was fairly easy to learn. Kindof like a fancy cassette recorder! Ok I've been around awhile... Anyway it does what I want, record some licks, overdub a few things, apply a few effects and mix it down to share with friends. I have also used it to mix down recordings of our band from a little Tascam recorder to make CDs for folks. Easy to edit out space between tunes, do fade ins and outs etc.

I'm really impressed with Reaper. Unlimited trial period and very reasonable noncommercial pricing ($60). Works perfectly with my Mustang III v2 and driver. Audacity was fine enough too, but the real time editing and playing made subtle tweaks better for me... Reaper was more setup out of the box IMO and the community support is great. 20 second download and you have a full featured DAW that works great with a Mustang!

+1 for Reaper.

@OP: Try activating (clicking) the "Mustang Amplifier" in the ASIO configuration dialog shown in your screenshot.

Thnx. I will try reaper and audacity. Audacity looks simpler so I will start from it. Reaper looks little more professional. And both have polish versions so it's huge advantage. But still I would like to know what is wrong with Amplutube and Ableton.

ChrisH1- it's not it. I wrote that on the screen the mustang device is turned of. But i always check it.

OK, Problem partially solved. Amplitube works and records so is Audacity I've just installed(so probably will be Ableton Live). But there is different problem with Amplitube now. Yes it records but the sounds i hear are from my mustang presets not Amplitube(probably modified by amplitube because they sounds different and there is latency ). How to bypass mustang presets? Although I don't need it I'm curious how does it sound

Never mind I've figure it out. FUSE is better ;P

+2 for Reaper. Reaper rocks and once I started using it I have never looked back or to the other DAWs and I have used many. Audio engine is the most efficient of them all.

I can't say anything about Amplutube and Ableton, but you might look at the community support. Both Reaper and Audacity have huge public community support so it's easy to find help. The available (many free!) plugins and real time adjustments, I really fell in love with Reaper.

For Reaper users, I've found this to be a great compressor plugin!

You mean "unAbleton"

I found that program very easy to use. Just throw it in the trash... done and done. I use Protools and when i tried Ableton the learning curve was ridiculous and counter intuitive. I'm sure you will fare way better with the above suggestions.

I will be the dissenter. Ableton is a bit tedious to set up, but once done it works a charm. One trick is to into advanced amp options and increase the usb output.

Amplitube, as it comes bundled, is abit superfulous. The Mustang is the interface between the guitar and computer. Amplitube is used to model amps. Amplitube can "call" Ableton to record. It is essentially a complicated equivalent using an Irig HD to an Ipad with Amplitube and Garageband.
