I have three Guitars that I use. My original presets were based on my Strat with N3 and Vinatge HB. I am finding that when I plug in other guitars the sounds aren't what I want (no surprise!). Do people save multiple variations of the same presets to suit diff guitars? If so, any suggestions for streamlining this process? Thanks

My presets are based on the song, not the guitar. But the guitar does play into things since I know which songs are going to be played on which guitar. If it's a heavier rock song I'll be using the Les Paul, on more bluesy or funky stuff it will be the Strat, and on the jazz or mellower songs it will be the Gretsch 5420, so I set up the patches using those guitars.

yes definitely.

I've got about 5 or 6 presets that I use, and I have these replicated and fine tuned the group of them to work best with humbuckers or single coils.

I select the right "bank", then use up/down to navigate when needed.

To best "streamline the process" spend some time determining how you prefer each of your guitars to sound, given their inherent differences (body type, pickups, switching, etc).

From the Seventeen (17) Basic Modeled Amps in the Mustang (MIII/IV/V) and without any FX enabled, choose the ones closest to the sounds you're trying to get. Bear in mind that each basic amp model has inherently different gain and drive levels, differing cabinet simulations, and respond differently to guitar output levels. It can be helpful to start by volume adjusting each Basic Amp's individual Volume/Drive/Gain levels so they are of similar Volume as you switch amongst them with the Mustang's Master Volume unchanged.

Once you have found the one or several amp models that suit each guitar's attributes, you can begin to refine the tone characteristics that Amp model offers. You may find you like the same model(s) for several guitars, but with slightly different blends of Treb, Mid, Bass, Gain, etc. This is when Saving Custom Presets of your own comes into play! From there you can add FX as you wish and Save additional Custom Preset variations containing the FX you also like. From there you can Save multiple Presets for Songs. Also be sure to dig into the Advanced Amp Page 2 Menu for each Basic Amp by pressing the Amp Button 2x! This is where the Magic happens. Here you find Sag, Bias, Noise Gate, Cab Sim, and more, for most of the basic models.

If you have an Android device, the Remuda App offers a Song Set List feature that allows you to define Songs and Set Lists with each Song having several Presets assigned. When you choose a Song, Remuda handles reassignment of your Footswitch's Quick Access buttons for that Song! As Remuda does full Preset, Amp, and FX Editing, (Creation, Naming, Renaming, Drag and Drop Repositioning, Sorting by Name or Number, and FX Signal Chain Drag and Drop Repositioning) it is really easy to get everything dialed in just right. Remuda even remembers your preferred Basic Amp and FX settings so you're not starting from scratch with each new Preset.

After a while, you'll know how to dial in your Mustang to get the sounds you like, regardless if, you're using a handy Preset you created and saved, or, if you're simply adjusting from scratch on the fly. The Mustang's Learning curve is undeniable. It is a task and process not suited for everyone. Those who do will discover the Mustang's versatility and magic. Others never get that far.

Hope this helps.

Yep... different presets for different guitars. I run a Strat w/ Texas Specials and an Epiphone ES-335 w/ humbuckers, and a Dean Boca 12 string. The Strat is very bright and I usually have the treble turned way down. The Epi is much darker so I have to brighten it up to get the jazzy or bluesy sounds I want. I originally started by customizing presets to each song (cover band), but I am now starting to reduce to just a basic set of clean thru driven and using the 4 button to turn on and off stomps, mods etc. more like a pedal board. Too many presets and its hard to keep up with a fast paced set in a live performance. Always fiddling with the amp. My presets have no organization right now, which doesn't work that well. I am thinking of grouping them by the guitar some rainy winter day.

Yup, I just have them set up as my first 3 presets. K.I.S.S.
