I plan to work on this next time I sit down with my M3, but to help me get started - has anyone ever tried to get that jangly Roger McGuinn sound, (think Turn, Turn Turn)? Seems like it would be some combination of delay and chorus? Thanks!

Most of the sound/tone you're hearing is because he used a 12-string guitar. It will be tough to duplicate that with a 6-string. (I'm assuming you're using a 6-string, maybe I'm wrong on that.)

Yeah, I know he used the Rickenbacker 12, and I know replicating that will be a challenge. I'm just looking to get a general feel, we are looking at playing Turn, Turn, Turn. And none of the 12 string emulating presets that I've tried have been very good. Back to the drawing board......

I tried a bunch of presets from the web... nothing really sounded like a 12 string. Many of the them use the pitch shifter to mimic the octaves of a 12 string and a compressor. But that all falls apart on the B and high E strings, which of course are not octaves on a real 12 string. So I sprang for a cheap 12 string (Dean Boca). We do a bunch of early Beatles, (Help, Eight Days etc) and I actually use it on some jazz tunes (Wes Montgomery sounding octave leads) Anyway nothing like the real thing, and the Dean is not bad for a $300 guitar. I started with #47 Gomez Clean on my MIII and added some simple compression, and set up the sine chorus to pop on for some stuff, sounds pretty good!

Our other guitar player has an acoustic 12, I'll have to see what I can get out of that. Don't have the budget right now for another guitar, even a cheap one. Thanks for the help!
