I wish a few of you guys that spend a lot more time on the Mustang line would publish a couple of compete backups - with your fav mods all volume leveled. :)

that's a cool idea - I would do it. I don't generally use more than 10 at a time but I still have the remnants of presets I created for various projects. There is also this thread where some user presets are posted: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=91937

Yes, those are mostly presets - which is/was actually one of the coolest features of Fuse. You can load them right in the Fuse interface https://fuse.fender.com/mustang/presets/. But I would like to see a forum with complete backups - all 100 (in the case of a Mustang V), where you could just load up a complete AMP with others creations. That would be fun to see what others have created in a complete upload.

you'll get a lot of crap with my backup because I don't do housekeeping very often. But you just may come across something you like.

I'll try to get the ball rolling. A Dropbox account would make it easier to share the files. The problem is you can't upload files to this forum.

Strings... you ever play tower of hanoi? That is what you are doing, now say you have 100, and say you want to group this bunch here, that bunch there... that one open slot is a nightmare. That is what we call in our industry... not very user friendly. Would that 'use case' work for you at work?

MusicLaw thanks, I looked at one android app a couple of years back. Not sure if that was the one or not. There are actually about four third party apps attempting to do what should be native in the product. Like one of said developer posted http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?p=1112659#p1112659

I appreciate the focused help on this one item, but respectfully- the point was a bit larger. The OP was larger. I was just pointing out one of the most obviously missed features, that sure enough sparked spin off development. I'm looking at this incredible modeling software... and I either play towers of hanoi or get a third party app, to simply arrange presets - after five years. Come on ...

Martin.
This may be a dead horse as far as you are concerned and I apologize if you have moved on. I have followed your postings over the years and am aware of just how disenfranchised Mustang owners have become.
For the record I am a working professional programmer (meaning I get paid) and have been since 1982. I wrote and published the Remuda app for Android to fill the void that Fender had left in the mobile market. I have considered creating a PC version because I agree with everything you have said in the past about the deficiencies that exist in FUSE. What has stopped me is the certain knowledge that I would never be able to compete with a free product. I have extensive experience with the Shareware distribution model and a program I wrote, called BurnQuick, had over 2 million downloads back in the day and of those downloads approximately 11,000 people registered for the full version. Lest you assume that it was a bad product, it was consistently highly rated and won the 1994 SimTel people's choice award. The problem is that there was a unending supply of FREE CD Burner software
The simple fact of the matter is that as long as Fender releases something and gives it away for free, then no serious programmer could afford the time and energy creating a competing product. By the way, I estimate that it would take 200-300 hours to create an initial release of a PC based version of the Remuda feature set. The actual communication with USB is bog simple. It is the crafting of a functional and rock solid UI that takes the time. Regards. Robert

reh, I sincerely hope Fender reaches out to you and gives you a budget to develop the software properly. It has been suggested a couple of times by different forum users. Then you wouldn't have to compete with Fender's "free" product and customers would surely benefit greatly. I totally understand your dilemma.

Robert - thank you for posting. I just come back from time to time to see what is happening. I develop as a hobby and was going to do a quick program for arranging presets (Delphi developer here). I didn't do it because I kept thinking Fender would release something and all my work would be null and void. You are a professional programmer and I get where you are coming from (in fact I keep meaning to purchase Remuda and take it for a spin). I didn't even what to spend the little bit of time it would take to do a better preset manager, if Fender was going to release better versions.

Strings10927 has a great idea, Fender should pay you to create a couple of releases to make up for lying to us over so many years. I certainly would purchase a reasonably priced replacement. Yet, as much as I hate to say this - you would never recover your investment of time. Fender has put a nail in the coffin of Fuse and the Mustang line with it.

I'll quote a line from that great thread on this topic: https://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=73425&start=645

"With that said, we would like to reassure users of Fender FUSE that Fender is indeed continuing development on the Fender FUSE software, but we regret that we are not able to share any details regarding future products. We will offer additional information as it becomes available."

I would call that a lie. Fender could have spent a relatively small amount of money to continue even the lowliest of releases (while they continued to sell the product) - but instead decided to lie. I still have two Mustangs, but they will be my last two anything Fender products.

As I once said in that same thread on this topic, I would be a lot more upset if I was any good on guitar :D ... but I never lied to customers like Fender did

Disclaimer - I used the term lie and that may be unfair. There could be technical reasons or financial issues that caused "misleading" information to be published in this user community. Yet, saying there is continuing development for FUSE for over half a decade while continuing to sell the associated product and releasing zero updates is either hugely misleading... or something else.
