I am by no means a FUSE expert, but I've been tweaking software modelers like Native Instruments Guitar Rig Pro, IK Multimedia Amplitube and Peavey ReValver for years.
Please forgive me if I have posted techniques that are NOT FENDER APPROVED. (Use at your own risk!)

Please use this thread to share any tips that you've discovered while using FUSE.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you turn one of the dimmed out knobs on an amp, it will illuminate and add the appropriate FX module relative to that amp model.

As soon as the Noise Gate threshold (THRESH) or depth (DEPTH) knobs are moved manually via the dial, the Noise Gate label changes to "Custom".

After you've clicked into the blue preset box, the Amp: selector box or the CABINET selector box, you can use the up/down arrows on your keyboard to cycle through the presets. If you change the focus by clicking elsewhere, you will need to refocus.

The F11 key will toggle FUSE to full screen for easier viewing of the UI.

You can add your favorite Wave or MP3 loops or tunes to the Band Tracks folder. Put the .wav or.MP3 (only) files here and restart FUSE: Libraries>Documents>Fender>FUSE>Audio>WaveMP3

You can start and stop band tracks with the space bar.

To fine control a parameter, hold the shift key down as you adjust a parameter.

In addition to using the mouse, you can hover over a control and adjust it with your mouse wheel.

You can audition band tracks that you have downloaded to your computer... Just load a band track, hit start, and then go back into band and change tracks.

You can use the tuner to mute the amp output and save your speaker(s) whilst you change guitars or pedals.

You can tweak and experiment with your chains by dragging and dropping stomps and rack effects between positions.

Unlike some modelers, with the Mustang III v.2, you can back down on your volume and get a whole new assortment of sonic beauty.

this is something I had to seek out:

 Press and hold EXIT and turn the Channel Volume knob to control USB Gain.

Wow... i didn't know about this... thanks. That can be very handy.

I'll share a couple things I find to be useful.

This really applies to MI and MII users but the "Save Effects" button is your friend. Allows you to save your tweaked Modulations, Delays and Reverbs to the knobs for adding on the fly to other presets later. There is a bug with fuse (at least on Mac OS) where the name you enter wont update in the GUI until you restart fuse but it works. This has allowed me to seriously reduce my need for hookup to my laptop when want to change FX in a preset.

The import preset function is also very useful. Say you have a Bassman preset you like but want to hear the same stomp and FX with the Marshall. You can import the Bassman preset and select what aspects of the preset you want to import. (FX and/or Amp Settings) and quickly hear what the preset would sound like with a different amp model.

hope that's useful for someone.

^^^^^^^^

I remember seeing this in the FUSE manual and wondering why this functionality does not exist for the MIII?

Until Fender adds a practice metronome to FUSE, download some of these files and add them to your MP3/WAVE folder under FUSE presets and then play them as looping band tracks. Better yet, just double click from the link and run them in the background as you use FUSE and they won't stop like the FUSE BAND track do every time you change patches!
