My wife gifted me a Mustang III v2 yesterday for my birthday (which is today :) ), and I spent some time with it last night. Wow - so much better than my old Peavey Bandit. I'm a very happy mediocre guitarist today.

Presets question(s). The unit comes with 100 presets. The tutorials leave me a little unclear - if I create a new one, I will need to overwrite an existing one, right? No biggie, as I doubt I would ever use most of these, but once overwritten, they're gone forever, or is there a std Fuse/Fender bank where I could retrieve the factory presets?

Same with user presets? I tried importing one last night (a "Europa" patch I wanted to try - I'm playing this in a recital in about 10 days...), but I didn't have any luck. Does it go into presets or Media Library?

Sorry and thx in advance for the help - I did look around the board for answers on these questions....maybe not deep enough, I guess.

If you want to save it on the amp, that is correct. Otherwise you could store it on your computer.

As far as I know, every original 'factory' preset that came with your Mustang III is available for download here  Link Click the FENDER CONTENT checkbox to filter out the user-created presets.

The presets you created or changed are only available for download after you've uploaded them to the Mustang Presets website. Otherwise, make a backup of the preset file on your computer.

It depends how you are going about downloading the presets. Are you downloading them while in the Media Library? If so, then click the Computer button (center row) to see the presets you downloaded. To save a downloaded preset to the amp, right-click the preset in the Media Library list, and select Save Preset to Amp. As you noted above, whatever preset 'slot' you choose to store the new preset will be overwritten.
