I am looking for an easier way to re-arrange my presets on my amp and/or on fuse.

I know of no way on the amp.

And in fuse it seems its only by importing a preset and overwriting.

I just wanna be able to move the order of my 100 presets around easily.

Anyone know how?

If you are pretty savvy with file management, there is this method which was never suggested or endorsed by Fender staff AFAIK, but seems to work:

If I get a hankering to re organize my amp, I just do a backup, navigate to the (backup) folder and alter the number of the preset file in the backup folder. Then restore the backup.

That is just the sort of brilliance that SHOULD be endorsed.

:D

I'll try that. Do you all know where the back up folder or files are located. Tried looking for it before for something else and could't find it. I looked in program files under Fender but just looked like all the files that were used to install the program.

hey captainc, to add to what you're doing, you could use this utility:

Bulk Rename Utility

Munkcore, are you using a MAC or Windows? What version?

In windows you can find the Presets and Backups in your My Documents folder, Fender subfolder.

I’m on a Mac but

Documents/Fender/Fuse/Backups/Presets

Once inside the presets folder just reorder them by changing the numerical prefix of the files. I have a mustang II so only dealing with 24. Another thing I find useful about doing on a mac is the ability to color code the files so I invert the numerical order so that preset 24 is on top to match the order they appear on the top of the amp, then color code them in groups representing the Orange, Red and Green, rearrange what i want, then I just restore that backup back on to the amp. Works every time.

Strings… the link didn’t open but I’ll google that and check it out.

Oops. Selected 'copy image URL' instead of 'copy link address'. Here is the correct link:

http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Down ... nNTx86.exe

But unfortunately it looks like no joy for you MAC users....

System Requirements: Bulk Rename Utility runs on Windows 8 / 8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2012, 2008, 2003, Win 2000, 98, Me

Isn´t that exactly the purpose of a preset manager? (Fuse)

There are some scenarios where plain file renaming can mess up your backup.
Thats probably why this method is not recommended by Fender ;)

You can give this a try or pray fender will someday improve Fuse (lol).
Estimated time for implementing drag and drop preset arranging in Fuse: about 1-2 hours max (noob dev).
Has been asked 1000 times. Never happened.

FWIW, the exact opposite is true. While the method outlined above by captainc has NOT been known to cause corruption of backups, the program Mr. Uke directed you to HAS been known to corrupt backups. This is from the thread he directed you to:

What a pain in the ... that means my backup is now corrupted and I need to start over. Looks like I need to make a few changes at a time, give it a try, save the last known good configuration, till either I figure out the problem or get all my changes made
And here was Mr. Uke's reply:
SenorUke wrote:
I have no intention to support this project any further. it works fine for me and that´s it

I wouldn't touch that home baked program with a ten foot pole personally. Renaming files like captainc suggested is way less likely to cause problems. YMMV.

I have a question, along the same lines. It's about presets.

I have crafted some of my own presets, over the years. I am preparing to sell my Mustang III and I am "moving up" to a Mustang V.

Is there a way that I can save my presets to my comp so that I can install them in my new amp?

I'm kind of technology impaired so, please explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old blonde girl?

Thanks, in advance,

Michael

Connect old amp to PC, make a backup with FUSE, connect new amp, restore backup. Simple enough.
