Hi ghost guitar,

Thanks for your post. With the Fender® Mustang™ I, you cannot bypass the amp modeling. However, if you are looking for a more neutral tone to begin with (before you add your Stomp effect), you may simply want to dial back the 'Gain' on the selected model (Preset). Additionally, if you are using the Fender FUSE™ software (https://fuse.fender.com/), you can make further adjustments to the parameters of the selected amp model in a given Preset, or even select a different model all together. You can also access extended parameters on the effects side when using Fender FUSE.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan

What about using the "Studio Preamp" amp model? Isn't that supposed to be the most neutral one?

Same question as ghost guitar for mustang v v.2.

I'd like stomp to to only be stomp button and removing other amp settings.

I suppose another way would be to have a stomp box assigned to another independent amp setting.

Any advise???

The V2 line has the "Studio preamp" amp model, so you could use that plus any stomp effects you like.

Create one (or more) Custom Presets in any Memory Slots you desire. You may use the UTIL button -> Quick Access Feature to assign up to three (3) Presets to the QA buttons on the 4btn fsw. This provides quick access (via the 4btn fsw Mode 1) to your three desired presets even if you have them in noncontiguous memory slots. The 4btn fsw (Mode 2) provides Preset Navigation in ascending or descending steps of one and in jumps of ten. This also gives nearly as quick access to Presets that you have created in contiguous memory slots, or placed ten slots apart. Plan accordingly.

For the Stomp toggle, the 4btn fsw's Mode 3, allows instant On/Off of the Stomp FX and shows a Green LED when the FX is enabled. Some like to create two nearly identical similarly named Presets with the only difference being that has the FX On, whereas the other has the FX Off. This gives you the alternative to switch between Presets to accomplish turning on or off the FX, instead of Stomping the FX On and Off. It also allows for another EXP-1 Expression Pedal configuration if you have that optional Pedal.

The Basic Studio PreAmp is the cleanest of all the 17 Modeled Amps in the Mustang V v2. For your Custom Presets select the Basic Studio PreAmp from the Amp Bank. Set the Amp Parameters and Advanced Amp (2x Press Amp Button) Parameters as you desire. Leave all the FX banks Empty, with the exception of the Stomp FX that you wish to use. Configure your desired Stomp FX as you wish.

Also explore the other 16 modeled Amps offered in the Mustang's Amp Bank! Some are lower gain and cleaner than others. Some are Higher Gain and may inherently give you the otherwise Stomp FX equivalence you are seeking. With adjustments to their respective Amp and Advanced Amp settings, particularly Gain, Sag, Bias, Noise Gate, and Cab Sim, you may discover two differently configured Presets -- using the same Amp model -- may be more desirable than simply toggling or even using the Stomp FX. This is the area where the Mustang's features really shine and provide wide flexibility! By default, the 17 modeled amps are in Memory Slots 83-99. These are without any FX enabled! However, each Amp model has its own inherent Gain and overall volume level characteristics. This involves you adjusting each to achieve the sonic results you desire. Once you do, simply Save and Overwrite that configuration to the same Memory Preset Slot, or Save it to another Memory Preset slot of your choice.

Bear in mind that, whenever you recall an Amp from the Amp Bank menu of 17 amps (this is not the same as using the Data Wheel to select from the 100 Presets), the amp you select comes in with it's Amp and Advanced Amp factory default settings! This same applies for the FX from the four FX banks! This means that you may freely overwrite any of the Memory Slots 83-99 without loosing their identities and features.

If you have a Mac or PC connected to your Amp you can use FUSE to do the above. If you have an Android device you can use REMUDA (App from Google Play Store) to do the above and even more capabilities that FUSE lacks such as Song and Set List Preset assignments. REMUDA also has easy Drag and Drop Prest repositioning, and it remembers your preferred Amp and FX configurations! So unlike FUSE and the Amp itself, when you recall an Amp or FX your preferred Amp and FX settings are intact! This means you need not always start from scratch!

Hope this helps....

Thanks music law. It takes some learning but I've figured most of it. Its cool once you get a feeling and understanding for the setup.

Thanks again!
