I am a very new guitar player(first amp, first guitar). When I hook up my digitech pedal to my mustang ii, all sounds stop coming from the amp. It is as if I am shutting it off. Please help.

Is the pedal getting power? Dead battery? Level knob up?

How are you hooking up the pedal? Is it like this?:

Guitar ==> Digitech Pedal Input ==> Digitech Pedal Output ==> Mustang amp input

What model Digitech pedal are we talking about?

Also, as captainc was wondering .... is the level knob up on the Digitech pedal?

It is a tl-2 hardwire metal distortion pedal. I do believe I may have it wired wrong. I think I went: guitar=>pedal output=>pedal input => amp. I will check when I get home.

oops, edited my post - no effects loop available on a Mustang II right?

So yeah that would be backwards. Try is as described above, should work. If not, you have some other issue...
