Dear JohnnySacc,

Thanks for your inquiry. When you ask about a volume style Stompbox, are you referring to a movable volume pedal style for a Stompbox? If so, none of the Stompbox pedals in the Mustang are volume Pedal style.

If you want to have the ability to play a song with the Stompbox engaged at a certain volume and then have an increased volume on the Stomp of the same preset when it’s time to solo this is what I would recommend.

A) Start out playing using the preset with the stomp you like. EX. 01 Whitechapel Heavy.
B) Copy this preset to another location (note you will be overwriting a preset but as in most cases you won’t be using 100 presets so you should be able to find one to overwrite) since you will be using the Down/Up buttons on the pedal I recommend you save to adjacent presets. Example - let's say you overwrite 02. Now Whitechapel Heavy would be preset 01 and 02
C) After preset has been copied adjust the Stomp levels on preset 02 and now you have the same presets with 2 different Stomp volumes.

Put your 4-button footswitch on mode 2 and now you can go back and forth between presets with Stomp volume affected.
I hope this helps and please let us know if we can assist you further.

Regards,

I think the OP was asking about the expression pedal for the V.2, 3,4,+5 amps?
I would go to your fender main dealer and enquire there.

Hi JohnnySacc,

You may also want to try the following idea. Set up either a Compressor or (possibly) Ranger Boost in the Preset you would like to use. Once you have that set up, you can use your MS-4 in Mode 3. Then, you can begin the tune with the Compressor or Ranger Boost bypassed. Then when you get to the part of the song where you would like to boost the output/tone, switch the selected Stomp effect on.

Additionally, you could utilize the optional EXP-1 pedal to control a wide variety of parameters in any of your effects and the amp itself, which may be useful for the type of behavior you are describing. I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan
