I have a Mustang IV and am looking to delve a little deeper into learning how to use it. The manual is lacking. I thought I might find a book on it, but it doesn't seem one exist. Any suggestions on resources for learning?

Yes but the "advanced" user guide is what, 10 pages if that? There is a Fuse user guide?

yes 14 pages for #3,4,5 and 11 pages for the "mini"... i have been scratching my head over the instructional materials ... they are not very clear and i have spent untold hours scouring youtube videos where guys think i want to hear them wank on a bunch of settings with no clear explanation of how to actually use the product. I suppose that Fender just assumes anybody can just "figure-it-out" by trial and error ... well I'm an Electronic Engineer by trade but not that IT guy that sits in the corner typing codes 14 hours a day to get something to work...I suppose some day when I crack the Fuse code I can make a real instructional video for guys that want to understand what is going on with these complicated amps. I felt all warm and fuzzy the other day when I figured out how to reverse engineer an Orange amp setting in V2 to my Mini which is a V1 ... woo-hoo

I agree. A full manual with explainations for each setting etc. would be great! Part of what is great about these amps is that someone with little experience can learn about all the effects and pedals... but Fender seems to think of it the other way round -- people will use a digital amp to mimic what they've already been doing with hardware for years.

Hi all,
Not sure if this is what you are after, but the cyber-twin manual has some information about various effects and their parameters.
It can be found here http://support.fender.com/manuals/guita ... nglish.pdf
cheers,
Alex

best way to figure this out IMO is ask questions here when you are stumped.

Hi All,

First post, but yes I agree with other posters that MORE help/support is definitely needed.

I'm not an accomplished guitarist by any means. I'm more of a strummer and singer. However, when I first hears about this great world of modelling amps, I got excited.

I'm a tech geek, technical writer and trainer. AND I want to learn as much as possible about all of the great possibilities available with my new Mustang III!

Yet, I find the help and support info very lacking. I'm NOT an experienced performer and I don't know about all of the effects and how they work. Yet I want to learn so I can have more fun with my new amp and my guitar.

Starting from scratch, I'd at least expect that the Fender support materials would include a description of each effect an audio file to hear what each effect sounds like.

Personally I don't have a clue as to what's available in terms of pedals, pre and post effects. I'd like Fender to at least provide that info to me.

Also, I don't want any replies from readers that say, "Hey man, you've got to play to know what you're doing" , or "If you don't know what the effect does, then you don't have the right to play with it." Also, I don't like the type of posts that say hey, just ask in the forms. Personally, if I don't know, I won't ask.

I'm a newbie to this whole world of modelling amps. I did not know that they existed. I didn't get into effects for the very reason that I thought you had to buy a lot of pedals to mimic or get the sound you wanted.

As a newbie, I want a detailed explanation of the software. I'm not afraid to read the "freaking" manual.

Before I bought the Mustang, I read comments from "experienced' players who wanted nothing to do with modelling amps ... they said they were too hard to master. I disagree. I think that if good instructions are available, people will use them to achieve what is possible.

So to the folks at Fender, please provide more detail to us new users of the software.

I want to use my new amp to its fullest potential and to unleash my creative potential

Take care

I totally understand where you're coming from, but I think this is misdirected. Yes, the amp has effects built in. My old Solid State amps had Reverb and/or Chorus built in. There was nothing included in the box which described what these effects do, and there certainly wasn't an audio file to hear what each effect sounds like. So why do we expect this with modeling amps?

Hi Strings,

Totally get ya!

I'm just one of those guys who thinks a flanger is something you use to connect metal tubing ;-)

I'm approaching Fuse software from a software user's perspective. "Hey it's got this feature, I wonder what it does?" etc., etc.

Aurally, I don't have the experience to know what that feature does. I'm hunting down videos for demos, such as these: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... BJmnxPCD9y

They're great. I just wish Fender might have considered this one small aspect of the newbie user experience. From a marketing standpoint, they could reference out to their own Fender products.

Anyhow, just my opinion as a new Fuse user and new to guitar effects.

I would also like to see a more in-depth user manual, or online tutorial.

Take care

Well you're not the only one. :) Here is a guide that was created by a forum user. It's not official documentation but it might answer some questions.....
