When I am setting up an effect in Fuse, I sometimes find it hard to turn the virtual knobs with my mouse. Is there a keyboard command that can turn a knob once it has been selected?

I'm not sure about a keyboard shortcut, but this may help. At first, I (and apparently many others) tried to turn the knob by moving my mouse cursor in a arc around the knob. That doesn't work very well. Instead, move your mouse cursor side-to-side or up-and-down over the knob. I believe placing your cursor on the knob and using the mouse scroll wheel will also work.

Yup. That works for me with my Apple Magic Mouse. Far easier than dragging up and down, and better response.
Thanks for the tip!

I thought I already posted this, but I guess maybe not.
When I use a scroll wheel to turn the knobs, the numeric values (in that awful green typeface) do not update until you move the cursor. Awkward when you're trying to adjust settings to some arbitrary value.

Also not too useful if you don't have a scroll wheel (or mouse).

Skeuomorphic interfaces aren't very useful in practice. A picture of a rotating knob will never work like a knob, and it's especially bad when you aren't presented with an alternative interface with the methods that do work well on a computer. It's just plain bad design.
Note that professional software eschews skeuomorphic interfaces, and use things like sliders you can both click and drag, with +/- buttons and an option to enter numbers directly for fine tuning. Imagine Photoshop with knobs like in FUSE...
